USC should get a commitment today from five-star athlete Honor Fa’alave-Johnson from San Diego Cathedral Catholic High School. USC plays a doubleheader with Northwestern today. The Trojans were leading 2-0 in the 8th inning of Game 1. I mentioned some of this yesterday but here are the full Pro Day marks from USC. Look at the bench press. It’s generally unimpressive. But no one will … Continue reading USC Saturday Buzz: Big Commitment Day
For the past four years, there has always been hype around the USC strength program from the fanboys and media. But there were some not-so-great marks at USC’s Pro Day. Linebacker Eric Gentry had only 13 reps of 225 pounds. Linebackers usually do at least 20 reps. Wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane did 11 reps in the bench. USC improved to 17-0 after a 7-6 victory over the University of San Diego in 10 innings last night. The longest winning streak in USC baseball … Continue reading Morning Buzz: USC Pro Day Features Anticipated Workouts

One thing I asked is whether Patterson would have wanted such an early start to spring practices? “No way,” the coach said. “They are not giving him enough time to implement his defense and teach it in meetings before starting spring practices. He would have wanted more time.” That’s an interesting perspective … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: An Early Start Has Drawback
Rob Ryan is in fact coaching at spring practices, which means USC does have three linebacker coaches. No pun intended but this is a bloated coaching staff. Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia will be paid $3.75 million in 2026, making him the highest-paid assistant in the country. I still think USC might have the most expensive staff with all the deadwood getting paid sizeable … Continue reading USC Notes: Largest Staff In America?
