Since watching that powerful Ed Orgeron video, one thing that always bothers me is when pundits claim, “he didn’t beat UCLA” as a justification for USC getting rid of Orgeron. USC never beat UCLA with Brett Hundley at quarterback (2012-2014). So three different coaches lost to him (Lane Kiffin, Orgeron, Steve Sarkisian). But somehow Orgeron, an interim coach, was supposed to beat UCLA or else? … Continue reading A False Argument For Not Hiring Ed Orgeron

ESPN did a story on Ed Orgeron that gets emotional when he talks about USC. It’s by far the best part of the video. “I thought I deserved to be the head coach there,” Orgeron said. On his last team meeting at USC: “It was like a funeral. It was hard. Man, that was my family. I told my Kelly, Besides the day I buried … Continue reading Ed Orgeron: “I deserved to be the head coach (at USC)”

Cal has not beaten USC in consecutive seasons since 1998-2000 when the Bears won three straight. Can Justin Wilcox pull it off in his first two seasons? Former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is no longer a candidate at Florida State, according to the Tallahassee Democrat. This is newsworthy because Florida State athletic director David Coburn revealed Stoops was on a list of candidates and the school contacted his representatives. It is also newsworthy because USC might want to consider Stoops. No one really knows right now what Mike Bohn is looking for … Continue reading Report: Bob Stoops No Longer Candidate At Florida State

It’s kind of crazy how USC is offering scholarships right now when Clay Helton could be fired after the UCLA game. But USC offered a prospect today who had a top 7 list that included four Mountain West schools. I wonder how Helton would explain the recruiting class to Mike Bohn? “The job speculation has hurt me,” he might say. But he got the five-year … Continue reading USC Desperately Needs Recruits
