Discuss The USC-Cal Game
Why hasn’t Clay Helton been able to get performances like that more often in a weak Pac-12? That’s the real question and why he should be fired. USC routs Cal, 41-10. Is anyone nervous this game might change the outcome with Helton? He will be favored to beat UCLA. What if he beats UCLA, 41-17? Will Mike Bohn fire him? Most people say yes. I … Continue reading Discuss The USC-Cal Game
Cal-USC Live Blog
It’s over. I don’t want to hear from anyone how great Justin Wilcox has done at Cal. Cal gets a consolation TD. It’s 41-17. Time to start thinking about USC-UCLA game. What time is kickoff? Did Jack Yary see that? A tight end (Josh Falo) caught a TD pass. It’s 41-10. Now I know why Cal was so eager to start Chase Garbers tonight. End … Continue reading Cal-USC Live Blog
My USC-Cal Pick
Is this going to be like most USC games where the Trojans get a lead and then have to hold off the other team at the end? I’ve gone back and forth on who to pick because of the fact Cal’s quarterback situation was up in the air and now a quarterback who had a month is suddenly going to start. That said, Cal has … Continue reading My USC-Cal Pick
A False Argument For Not Hiring Ed Orgeron
Since watching that powerful Ed Orgeron video, one thing that always bothers me is when pundits claim, “he didn’t beat UCLA” as a justification for USC getting rid of Orgeron. USC never beat UCLA with Brett Hundley at quarterback (2012-2014). So three different coaches lost to him (Lane Kiffin, Orgeron, Steve Sarkisian). But somehow Orgeron, an interim coach, was supposed to beat UCLA or else? … Continue reading A False Argument For Not Hiring Ed Orgeron
Ed Orgeron: “I deserved to be the head coach (at USC)”
ESPN did a story on Ed Orgeron that gets emotional when he talks about USC. It’s by far the best part of the video. “I thought I deserved to be the head coach there,” Orgeron said. On his last team meeting at USC: “It was like a funeral. It was hard. Man, that was my family. I told my Kelly, Besides the day I buried … Continue reading Ed Orgeron: “I deserved to be the head coach (at USC)”
Morning Buzz: Pick The USC-Cal Score
Cal has not beaten USC in consecutive seasons since 1998-2000 when the Bears won three straight. Can Justin Wilcox pull it off in his first two seasons? He has to take some satisfaction in that his job seems safe and the guy who fired him — Clay Helton — is on his last legs. Who do you like tonight? USC’s healthier than last week and … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Pick The USC-Cal Score
