Did You See The New Peristyle At Rams Game?
When USC said the peristyle would no longer be obstructed and cluttered, it obviously was not referring to Rams games. The new, restored, beautiful peristyle. USC Morning Buzz: What’s Wrong With A Mobile QB?
It is OK to disagree on who starts at quarterback for USC. One thing I don’t agree with is when people try to knock a quarterback for being mobile in the Air Raid offense. During last Saturday’s scrimmage, there was a play where half the field was wide open. Jack Sears took off and gained at least 20 yards. This is a negative? USC Gets Another Offensive Lineman
Jonah Monheim, an offensive lineman from Moorpark, committed to USC this afternoon. Monheim (6-4, 280) can play guard or tackle. He is listed as a four-star prospect by Rivals and three-star by 247. USC Gets Special Guest And Matt Leinart Makes Prediction
Yankees manager Aaron Boone, who played baseball at USC, stopped by the McKay Center this morning to speak to the team. Boone is a huge USC football fan and has stopped by practices in the past. Maybe he can be hired to replace Clay Helton. Fox analyst Matt Leinart predicted USC would win 8 games this season. That’s one more than the over/under for most … Continue reading USC Gets Special Guest And Matt Leinart Makes Prediction
Remembering Bill Nelsen
Bill Nelsen, one of the most underappreciated USC quarterbacks, died in April. He was 78. I don’t recall any announcements but he deserves recognition. Nelsen led the Trojans in total offense in 1960-61 and helped lead an upset of UCLA in in John McKay’s first season. He also played in 1962 when USC won a national title. But Nelsen often took a back seat to Pete … Continue reading Remembering Bill Nelsen
USC Morning Buzz: Quarterback Talk
Mater Dei QB Bryce Young started off his season completing 19 of 26 passing for 191 yards and three TDs. It was about a year ago when a friend told me Mater Dei coach Bruce Rollinson said (at a USC game no less) that Young was better than JT Daniels. At the time, I thought Rollinson was just trying to support his current quarterback. But … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Quarterback Talk
