A Busy Crosstown Rivalry Eve
The Daily Trojan defeated the Daily Bruin, 5-1, today in the Blood Bowl. Touchdowns counted for one point and the Daily Bruin threw at least four interceptions to start the game. The second half may have made history as it was played entirely by all-female teams for each squad. Pictures of the game are below. Continue reading A Busy Crosstown Rivalry Eve
If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
So last week I wrote about how actor Mickey Rooney headlined the USC-UCLA pre-game football rally in 1952. Rooney put on a “$15,000 a week nightclub act” with other entertainers for USC students. The exact same show opened in Reno, Nev., on Christmas Day in 1952. Fast forward to 2024. Last night, USC held the rally for the UCLA game on campus. USC-Nebraska Report Card
QUARTERBACK Jayden Maiava made some key plays, including with his legs. He also had a couple ricochet passes that could have been disastrous but went USC’s way. That might just be how it is with him. Grade: C+ RUNNING BACK Where would USC be without Woody Marks? It’s ironic a tailback is singlehandedly giving Lincoln Riley the best part of his offense. Grade: A WIDE … Continue reading USC-Nebraska Report Card
