The Basketball Coaching Carousel Continues

One thing I emphasized when Eric Musselman got hired was that he burns through assistant coaches. Back in January I wrote about “rumblings” about staff changes. Well, assistant coach Quincy Pondexter is not returning next season. Musselman has wanted an assistant with L.A. ties but struck out with candidates like Eugene “Pooh” Jeter, who is currently assistant general manager of the Portland G League team. … Continue reading The Basketball Coaching Carousel Continues

USC Morning Buzz: Flurry Of Football/Basketball Additions

Jake Johnson, a defensive tackle from Prosper, Texas, committed today. He was offered by Baylor, Kansas, Northwestern and SMU. Lincoln Riley will be happy because Johnson is the third commitment from Texas for the Class of 2026. Ask Wesley Yates, A’Marion … Continue reading Sunday Buzz: USC The Place To Be!

Three New Players For Basketball But What Does It Mean?

Jones and Dickerson averaged 13 points per game. Cofie averaged seven points. Sounds like they will nicely complement the existing players. But shouldn’t USC be trying to get a game-changing transfer? Especially after landing five-star guard Alijah Arenas? And especially after losing … Continue reading Three New Players For Basketball But What Does It Mean?

Just Another Busy Saturday For USC

Four-star running back Deshonne Redeaux of Oaks Christian High School committed to USC today. Among the schools he had offers from were Georgia, Alabama and Notre Dame. He averaged 126 yards rushing per game and scored 18 touchdowns last season. Meanwhile, Wesley Yates, who was arguably USC’s best basketball player, has entered the transfer portal with a “do not contact” tag, which means he already … Continue reading Just Another Busy Saturday For USC
