Morning Buzz: USC Is Better Than Minnesota But . . .
USC is better than Minnesota and should beat the Gophers on Saturday. But are the Trojans “overwhelmingly better.” That is an issue because Lincoln Riley consistently demonstrates that he doesn’t like playing teams that are in any way a challenge. He needs an clear edge over an opponent to ensure that he doesn’t have the possibility of choking. Minnesota is only 2-3 but they gave … Continue reading Morning Buzz: USC Is Better Than Minnesota But . . .
USC Notes: TV Ratings And Recruiting In News
I hear Jen Cohen spoke on campus at Town and Gown yesterday and raved about the ratings for USC-LSU and USC-Michigan. Is she going to rave about the ratings for USC-Missouri State? USC-Georgia Southern? No one reminded Cohen that Lincoln Riley didn’t want to play LSU. Yessoufou visited USC in late June (picture below). Lincoln Riley Gets His Dream Opponent
USC is going to play Missouri State on Aug. 30, 2025 at the Coliseum. Missouri State is currently an FCS school and USC has never played an FCS school. Alvarez said this week he would have run the ball the whole game if he were the coach. “I’d love to coach a game like … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: A Poor Play Call Still Makes News
Linebacker Chooses To Redshirt
USC senior linebacker Raesjon Davis is going to redshirt. Hopefully, he will transfer to another program next season but he’s been so loyal to USC he might stay. USC’s starting linebackers are seniors so Davis might think he will play next season. But freshman Desman Stephens II has had more snaps this season and you can bet USC will hit the portal hard at linebacker in … Continue reading Linebacker Chooses To Redshirt
USC Football: The Good And The Bad
I have a lot of respect for Miller Moss, who took part in a Man on the Street interview on Monday with the student-run Annenberg Media and even gave his opinion. I can’t tell you how many USC quarterbacks of the past 20 years would have declined doing an impromptu interview like this. But Moss isn’t a Big Time Charlie. View this post on Instagram … Continue reading USC Football: The Good And The Bad
