USC has received a commitment from massive Georgia defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett (6-5, 350). Can he play? I only ask because the fanboys won’t. Jarrett had three tackles and no sacks in 11 games with the Bulldogs. Hopefully, he works out better than Bear Alexander. Continue reading Saturday Buzz: USC Lands Georgia Lineman

Former USC defensive tackle Bear Alexander has committed to Oregon. He also considered Penn State and SMU. Now this is going to be interesting. Dan Lanning has instilled a go-go-go culture in Eugene that seems to have little time for lackadaisical play. Will the Oregon coaches transform Alexander? If they can, they deserve plenty of kudos. If not, where does Alexander turn next? Continue reading Bear Alexander To Oregon

A reader who saw the picture of Marv Goux in today’s column reminded me that yesterday was the 80th anniversary of the death of Pvt. Tony Goux, who died at the Battle of the Bulge. Marv Goux was only 12 when his father died. Don Clark played football at USC in 1942 before joining the Army. Clark was only 20 when he fought in the Battle … Continue reading The Friday USC Notes Column Supplement

That’s an indictment of Lincoln Riley and wide receivers coach Dennis Simmons. Again. Duce Robinson is visiting Florida State today. Is Jen Cohen ever going to get the Hall of Fame going … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column

Former USC tailback Quinten Joyner is expected to transfer to Texas Tech, according to Matt Zenitz. Texas Tech? Joyner visited Ohio State last week. That’s an understandable move. But Texas Tech? So did Texas Tech simply offer the most money? What was USC prepared to pay Joyner that caused him to leave in the first place? From Tommy Trojan to Raider Red? As they say … Continue reading Quinten Joyner Transfers To Texas Tech?!?!

Defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver of Kentucky has signed with USC. Silver had been predicted to go to USC by the recruiting services for the past couple weeks. USC safety Kamari Ramsey has announced he will return next season. This was also expected because Ramsey has been attending bowl practices. USC defensive line coach Eric Henderson had a tweet attacking a USC beat reporter this morning … Continue reading USC Notes: Troy Adds Key Defensive Lineman
