Pick The USC-Michigan State Score
USC has made a huge deal out of the size of the crowd for tonight’s game. It has sent out a barrage of emails imploring fans to buy tickets. Lincoln Riley “wrote” a letter asking the crowd to be better. You would think USC is playing Ohio State at 12 p.m. Not Michigan State at 8 p.m. Who will be watching on the East Coast … Continue reading Pick The USC-Michigan State Score
A USC Tradition Continues (Unfortunately)
One thing that irritates me every year is the way some media hype up players in training camp and create the impression that the player will be vital to the team’s success. To be clear, I’m not criticizing the players. It’s not them. They want to contribute. It’s the overeager media, often with the encouragement of coaches or others inside the program, who go overboard. … Continue reading A USC Tradition Continues (Unfortunately)
If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column

Waymond Jordan remains the starting tailback. Continue reading USC Notes: Who Starts Vs. Michigan State?
USC Morning Buzz: These Stats Might Surprise You
Unsurprisingly, USC defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn said Wednesday he had not been contacted by UCLA. It’s too early for coaches to be contacted. “We’ve got a lot of stuff on defense that we’ve got to clean up and improve on,” Lynn said. “So that’s where all my focus is.” Lynn is right. His defense ranks 14th in total defense in the Big Ten (319 yards) … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: These Stats Might Surprise You
A USC Legend Passes Away
Ken Matsuda, a towering figure within the USC track and field program for 18 seasons, has died. He was 90. Matsuda was an influential assistant for track coach Vern Wolfe from 1966-84 and part of five NCAA championship teams. He coached the USC sprint relay teams to nine NCAA titles and 10 conference championships. He was synonymous with USC track and made a huge impact … Continue reading A USC Legend Passes Away
