Lincoln Riley has promoted tight ends coach Zach Hanson to be USC’s new offensive line coach. Hanson might do a fine job but I’m disappointed there was not at least a national search for an offensive line coach to see who might be interested. This is the university that had Hudson Houck as offensive line coach from 1976-82, arguably the best offensive line coach ever. … Continue reading Lincoln Riley Hires Offensive Line Coach

I constantly rail about USC’s lack of development under Lincoln Riley. But let’s look at his best offensive players the past three seasons: Caleb Williams, Jordan Addison, Travis Dye, Marshawn Lloyd, Woody Marks. You know what they have in common? Former USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, currently at Wisconsin, has emerged as the expected hire for Central Florida’s defensive coordinator job according to Pete Thamel. That was a pretty quick rehabilitation. USC offensive tackle Mason Murphy has signed with Auburn. Former USC offensive lineman Courtland Ford, who has been at Kentucky, has committed to UCLA. Is USC stat-padding with JuJu Watkins by leaving her in … Continue reading USC Notes: Grinch In News For Christmas

I don’t want to judge too early but it’s not unfair to say USC has been fairly quiet regarding the transfer portal. Lane Kiffin has already gotten seven commitments from transfers. Mississippi ranks No. 2 according to 247, behind only LSU, who also has seven commitments. Minnesota, a Big Ten rival (apparently) has 10 commitments and ranks No. 6. USC has one commitment: cornerback DJ … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: All Quiet On The Early Transfer Front

USC wide receiver Kyron Hudson has committed to Penn State. It’s worth noting Penn State quarterback Drew Allar announced today he is returning next season. Penn State is 21-5 with him at QB. USC does not play Penn State next season. Penn State is also recruiting Bear Alexander. USC tailback Woody Marks has announced he will enter the NFL Draft. So what, USC will have … Continue reading Kyron Hudson To Penn State
