A former USC coach texted me today and said, “I hear Lincoln Riley has really tried to get out of there (USC).” Yes, but there has been nowhere to go. We’ll see if an NFL team has interest in an 8-5 coach. Isn’t it time to hear Kliff Kingbury’s name getting thrown around for jobs? He didn’t exactly make a huge impact at USC this … Continue reading USC Notes: It’s Coaching Hunting Season
What did Lincoln Riley do for the Pac-12? The expectations were high. Here’s a pretty widespread view after Riley got hired: If #USC finalizes the Lincoln Riley deal, the impact will be immediate for the entire #Pac12. USC plays LSU, Michigan and Washington next season, so there would be an impact on the Trojans. Meanwhile, … Continue reading Saturday Buzz: Coaching Maneuvers Could Affect USC
Who believed a few weeks ago that Lincoln Riley, the master of the transfer portal and QB guru, would strike out landing any of the top quarterbacks looking to transfer? Will Howard always looked like the best prospect for USC. Riley flew to Kansas to visit him and got Howard to make a campus visit. But Howard committed to Ohio State on Thursday. The homers … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
