The Most Obvious Spring Practice Observation

USC coach Clay Helton said he would not pick a starting quarterback during spring drills. Kind of hard when your starter isn’t even at USC right now.

Helton also said neither Matt Fink nor Jack Sears had an advantage at this time. Now that’s more interesting because with all the time Fink had last season in practice gettting real reps while Sears was on the scout team, Fink should have an advantage. Not to mention his game experience.

    1. Some USC coaches, not all, evade Scott’s requests for interviews due to the likelihood that Scott will pose some questions that these coaches, for whatever reason, want to avoid answering.

  1. He also said the 3rds and 2nds were playing for the firsts spots. The one heard before, which we all hope is true, is the best player would start. He studied a lot of film and made a point of saying they are working on cutting the interference and holding penalties. I hope this group can do some learning.
