Mater Dei quarterback JT Daniels claimed as late as mid-December he would return to the school for his senior season. But everyone knew at USC that Daniels was graduating early, they just did not say it in public.
USC quarterbacks coach Bryan Ellis confirmed this week that Daniels told USC well in advance.
“It was awhile back,” Ellis said. “Him and his dad came to us with it. We told him, you’ve got to talk to (Mater Dei coach Bruce Rollinson) and those things got settled. We’re fired up to have him now. (But) it was awhile back.”
This will further frustrate all the high school media that asked Daniels and got denials he would ever leave Mater Dei for USC.
God forbid we frustrate the high school media.

You selectively cut this from a video interview – if you watch the entire video Ellis goes on to state that is was December. Take this down.

I agree, it is not worth crap, it is inaccurate and misstated.

Misleading, for sure. But what else is new? And who cares what the media thinks? They kid and his family can keep their plans under their collective hats for as long as they want…..
