USC coach Clay Helton was on the NFL Network and asked about Jim Mora’s comment yesterday that the Cleveland Browns should take Sam Darnold.
“I’m biased. I’m going to take Sam Darnold,” Helton said, unwilling to make any bold proclamations about Josh Rosen.
Meanwhile, a pretrial hearing for USC wide receiver Joseph Lewis was continued for four weeks. Lewis has pleaded not guilty to five misdemeanors for two separate domestic violence incidents. People within the football program say not to expect him back.
Below are Helton’s comments:
If Jim Mora says he’d take Sam Darnold #1, would @USC_Athletics coach @USCCoachHelton take Josh Rosen? #UpToTheMinute @nflnetwork. pic.twitter.com/DU82Pa8Ifj

Yes, everyone knows that taking Darnold is a sure thing. With rosen, you don’t know how long he will last. He might last one game and then leave the league because it is too tough for him.
