Jay Glazer of Fox Sports said this morning that some NFL teams are interested in USC offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury as a head coach.
“Teams are actually looking at his contract to see if maybe we can lure him before he really starts at USC,” Glazer said.
From going 35-40 at Texas Tech to head coach in the NFL. What a country!
Meanwhile, here is a quote from five-star recruit Kayvon Thibodeaux to 247Sports on why he picked Oregon.
“There were a lot of reasons why I chose Oregon” Thibodeaux said. “I have a great comfort level with the coaching staff and I know I can go in there and get developed. I’ve known coach (Keith) Heyward since I was just a freshman and I really like coach Joe (Salave’a, DL coach) a lot. He’s a great coach, one of the best coaches in the country and I can’t wait to learn from him.”
Note the phrase “get developed.”
Five-star cornerback Chris Steele said he decommitted from USC because players did not develop.
Here’s another quote: “I want to go in to sports broadcasting or something in the entertainment field that is sports related,” Thibodeaux said.
When does USC lose a player who is interested in sports broadcasting or entertainment?
Enjoy Eugene!

So he leaves LA for Eugene to become a broadcaster? Good luck.

Don’t forget USC Baseball. It’s a train wreck. . . .

I’m glad the players are actually coming out and saying what a educated football fan sees. USC fan boys, and Lynn Swann would say otherwise, because they love to pretend.

Exactly right. It’s almost a form of arrogance that communicates “we’re USC, anything we do must be correct, and invariably we will resume our place as the top program,” that really masks a form of ignorance that suggests a complete lack of institutional knowledge of what caused the earlier greatness to occur…which is ironic, since that is why Haden and Swann were hired (as well as Garrett, but by now, hopefully even those who hated the latter so bitterly must admit that he was, whether luck was involved in hiring decisions or not, far superior to his unworthy successors – maybe Pete was a gift, but the acumen demonstrated in luring Kiffin, with EdO in tow, for recruiting to weather the NCAA storm – the one Haden either naively or negligently defended – that placed a premium on recruiting the best players with limited scholarships)…nothing was ever guaranteed, and this is all the more so true today – USC is in the process of following Miami football (and Houston, Louisville, and Georgetown in basketball) down the “once was” path…the decisions made in the past month have only increased the damage that will be wrought by this wreck in progress.

We need to go out and hire an experienced AD instead of a past USC athlete for fund raising purposes

NCAA should investigate to see if there is a money trail leading from Oregon down here to southern california

Really? You lose a player and you think money is involved? Your attitude is what makes SC what it is, spoiled!

Hi Fred,
Reminder, Oregon was caught paying for a player from texas just recently. They paid $25k and there was no penalty against them either.

I’m gonna guess that after USC officially announced this hire that there’s wording within the contract that would not allow this move. But that’s just a guess. Flow, I realize you hope for a different outcome…

And i will smirk at you because both you and i know UCLA kicked your ass and will continue to do so for many years to come. Viva Chip! viva clay!

1. After living through the Sonny Yikes Texas fiasco, I’d bet KK’s agent is shopping him. Why else would the pro’s interfere with KK’s contract?
2. It’s well known about the Nike money that flows through Oregon. Some probably gets lost on the ground near a 4*/5*. Probably just a coincidence. Oregon, poverty with a view.
