Will USC’s No. 2 Recruiting Class Reach Its Potential?

Every time someone points out what an average (or less) coach Andy Enfield is at USC, there comes the natural response: But he has the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class.

Duke had the nation’s No. 1 class the past three years. The Blue Devils never made it the Final Four with those classes.

Now if USC were to make the Elite Eight next year, I’m sure the fanboys will be happy. But watching the NCAA Tournament this year, you see the impact of good coaches.

USC might get far on talent next season. But it won’t be because Enfield is outcoaching anybody.

If he can’t outcoach the regular Pac-12 coaches, it won’t happen in the NCAA Tournament.

Also one warning: One of USC’s most impressive recruits is Drake London. But he also plays football. So when does he join the basketball team? January?

      Drake is a legit basketball and football player. He was called “one of rare true two sport 4-star” athletes who is very good in both.
      You should check out his game vs Sierra Canyon on Youtube. I don’t condone this behavior but it was actually funny. He starts talking smack to the Kenyon Martin in the front row saying “Your son sucks”. He’s talking about Kenyon Martin Jr who we just offered late two weeks ago. But that Sierra Canyon team is stacked and Drake London shows he’s for real..

  3. While we are at it how about that “retread” that is the women’s basketball coach 5 teams from the Pac-12 in the sweet 16, and Sc can’t get past the first round in the Pac-12 tourney. Trakh is just as bad as Enfield. As long as Stanford, Oregon, Oregon St. ucla, Cal, Arizona St. are in the Pac 12 the SC program is going nowhere with this guy.1

      But if he doesn’t get USC in the tournament next season with 3…….yes 3…….5-Star women’s basketball recruits then I say fire him because he’ll never win. College Basketball is a sport made where you can instantly build a contender and that should be enough for a trip to the round of 64.

  5. It’s possible if Andyain’twinning/bozo u quits the Pac- 12; he doesn’t schedule ranked or maybe ranked teams; and, he loads up the bozo u independent BB home schedule with Creampuffs, Cupcakes and little people teams.

I am all in favor of constructive criticism,which happens to also point out the good the bad and the ugly,so as when helton is criticized we point out why his athletes under develop, they can’t come close to living up to their potential and why ,which involves mostly the practices, & lack of real football practices and whatever else.
    Enfield can’t even field a 5 on 5 practice…during most of this year. How do you expect him to develop the team when at one point he had 6 maybe 7 scholarship players. So, come up with more than you don’t like him,advise where he can’t coach and compare to what his practice should be…please.

      Kevin Prince, the UCLA QB that game couldn’t come within 15′ of an open receiver. The absolute worst UCLA QB ever. But UCLA made no excuses for their humiliating loss.

      So the point I’m making you play with what you brung. None of this Andyain’twinning BS excuses whine.

      Clown U pays Enfield’s to manage the Clown U BB program. And if he winds up with not enough players that’s his problem – it’s not a bozo BB loser excuse.

      Andyain’twinning is a jerk. You think Coach K hires a recruit’s father as an Asst. Coach, to induce a coveted a recruit to sign with Duke?

  9. ESPN reported today that bel-air tech offered John Calipari an 8 yr. $48 million deal and they were turned down. He accepted a ‘lifetime’ offer to stay with KY.

    Now who? Some other poor fool that has to coach under the ghost of the peckerwood’s minions?

    1. Calipari would have fit right in at a hoops program with a long lineage of corruption. Derrick Rose never took the SATs when Calipari was coaching at Memphis…Calipari told a reporter that a player was on the “Athletic Director’s Academic Dean’s List”….Say what? Athletic Director’s Dean’s list? He completely made that up. And the stories (and scandals) go on.

        Andyain’twinning just finished his 3rd losing bozo bb season. Additionally, Enfield’s losing season is the 2nd leg of SUCCX FB, BB and Baseball 1st loser cycle season in 112 yrs.

      As I recall ESPN had Douch U winning the BB NC. However, they did get one thing right: ESPN coined the “Clown U” metaphor for SUCCX the college.

  10. First off this makes absolutely no sense.
    You are too wrapped up in trying to punch a hole in anything USC that you accidentally gave Andy Enfield a big compliment by saying the greatest college basketball coach of all time Coack K has also come up short with much higher ranked classes.

    And I just read something from conquest chronicles or reign of troy where they point out that Enfield had an underachieving season. There’s no argument there. I agree. With them and you Wolf.
    But they also pointed out that Andy Enfield is really getting USC on the map of CBB. They noted that he got the Trojans to two consecutive tournaments WHILE ALSO…..pointing out that they were ROBBED of being selected for a third adding that Coach Enfield managed to win a solid 14 games in the Pac12 conference. That means they (a team of staff writers) believe USC should have been a tournament team.
    In other words they see Enfield hasn’t impressed by winning on pure tactics and adjustments. But they clearly see and realize that the name of the school on the Jersey’s we wear say USC not UCLA, Arizona or Gonzaga.

    MAYBE………
    YOU SHOULD BE POLITE AND ASK AND ENFIELD FOR A QUICK 1-ON-1 ON HIS TAKE ON WHAT HAPPENED THIS SEASON AND THE DIRECTION OF THE PROGRAM GOING INTO NEXT YEAR WITH THE NEW KIDS.
