Talk about a case of hype not meeting actual performance.
USC guard Kevin Porter said he will turn pro and sign with an agent, which means his college career is officially over.
What exactly did USC get from this possible lottery pick? He had the mysterious bruised thigh that sidelined him for weeks. He got into a heated argument with Andy Enfield and was suspended. Then he came back and never looked like the player so many pundits claimed would be a game-changer for the Trojans.
At the end of the day, Enfield brought in a player with a questionable attitude and didn’t handle him properly. Would USC have been worse off if Porter never arrived?
- Meanwhile, you probably know I am quite critical of Enfield’s scheduling. Well, Florida Gulf Coast just announced it will play a three-game series with USC starting next year. The first game will Dec. 29 at the Galen Center. The series moves to FGCU in 2020 and comes back to the Galen Center in 2021.
What I see at USC, is everyone for themselves….we’re living through it…you’re a superstar, no matter who you are….Earth, Wind and Fire

We need to change our contracts and letters of intent….add the team first clause….from here, all blessings flow…many are being led astray…it’s time for the school to protect itself better…and, for goodness sakes, stop the long term deals with coaches elevate their annual salaries to compensate, its cheaper all things considered and provides flexibility…no one is irreplaceable….it’s 1 year deal time! Like rental agreements, you won’t move, if you’re into it….landlords don’t want turnover, either…unless, it’s obvious…Walter Alston, former Dodger manager, signed more than 20 of those and the relationship was good…

What’s a modest extra incentive, compared to a long term catastrophe? The bean counters can work it out…no offense..,

If a player decides to sit on the ballclub, make him compensate the university for this upon signing his pro contract…same with leaving early…,change the letters of intent.

Porter had some flashes, for sure. You can see that he has some elite talent. But he needs at least another year of college, that much I can see also. Best of luck, hope it works out for him. Flow on the other hand can’t wait to see if he fails.

Who gives a shit about Porter, Jr. or his father. Get a Caucasian
outside shooter like the two from Va. and Moretti from Tech who know what it takes to win by not showboating. Not racist just the actual
performance in front of your face which can’t be denied.

I hope Porter matures eventually into more of a team first mentality but also a leader down the road. He’s a real talent but he might have been sidetracked or was looking ahead with the NBA$ on his mind during some games. You cant blame him when he lives on a campus in Los Angeles California first of all, but the way the university has been so much of a circus he was just fitting in with the norm.
Good luck to Porter.
Fight On!
