The goal-line portion of practice had six plays: The offense scored twice, stopped itself twice and got stopped by the defense twice.
Devon Williams and John Jackson caught touchdown passes. But the defense stopped Markese Stepp short of the goal line and a holding penalty ruined a Vavae Malepeai TD run. I guess that’s more than the 1-penalty-every-200 plays Clay Helton described two weeks ago.
Williams caught a sure TD out of bounds and then Tyler Vaughns was stuffed by Palaie Gaoteote.
At least this gives Graham Harrell something to work on before Saturday’s final practice, which may or may not include scrimmaging.
- Among the former players who attended practice were offensive linemen Damien Mama, Kris O’Dowd, Jordan Simmons and Chad Wheeler.
- Lynn Swann was seen on campus Tuesday and Thursday. Do you think he would be here if there had not been so much written about his annual trip to the Masters (and other golf trips)?

Ha! [I’m guessing Scott went to USC before that became “the way”]…..
