I might start keeping a media poll on the USC quarterback job.
The Los Angeles Times said JT Daniels should start the season opener. The Athletic said today to expect Daniels to start. Former UNLV coach Harvey Hyde and I have said Jack Sears should be the starter.
To be clear, Hyde and I are saying who should start. Not who Clay Helton will choose. Who else has weighed in?
- Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said today he did not go to UCLA because the Bruins would not cover his $5 million buyout.
“I think I would have been the coach at UCLA,” Barnes said. “”I knew I wasn’t supposed to be at UCLA (when they did not cover the buyout).”
- USC will play Temple in a non-conference game at the Galen Center next season. That means the Trojans might play the Owls twice next season because both teams are in the Advocare Invitational in Orlando too.
Is this the same sw who said no one could properly evaluate the quarterbacks because the secondary was thin due to injuries? He also warned against listening to anyone who would put one quarterback ahead of the other, especially Daniels over Sears?

Wolf has about as much evaluation process as Gomer, who started Browne over Darnold for 3 games.

if Harvey Hyde were the only other member of the “media” that agreed with me, I think I would just keep quiet.
Harvey Hydes coaching career makes Clay Helton’s career look like Bill Bilicheck’s.

You sir are a dumb ass. Coach Hyde is so far superior to you in football
knowledge it is off the chart. Who recruited and coached
RandallCunningham at UNLV? Your handle is ridiculous sounds like
a coffee cake. Have you ever met or talked with him? Probably you live
in some Podunk town.

You are right about everything. I am going to re-examine my life, move away from my podunk town, and build a Harvey Hyde shrine.
Thanks for showing me the light.

Scott and Harvey have a lot in common. Both have been fired and nobody listens to either of them.

Brumby,
Harvey has a show at Setbello’s in Pasadena usually on the second or third Thursday at 7 P.M. You might want to show up. You can find out by contacting Harvey through Twitter or Facebook. He is a good guy and he loves SC. He is not a bad coach. he just did not have enough talent at unlv. His coaching method you probably would agree on, be physical, stop the run, and start Sears. Play the best player.
