Clay Helton Had No Choice!

Another argument I’m hearing for making Kedon Slovis the backup is that Clay Helton had no choice because Jack Sears and Matt Fink will leave if they were not named the starters.

So why didn’t Helton tell them that in the spring?

Isn’t he always saying you need to be honest with the players? If he had no interest in them being No. 1 or No. 2, he really played them by not encouraging them to leave.

And here is my tweet for the day:

  1. Jack Sears, and Matt Finks are both idiots for falling for the okee Doke from a Dumb Ass Bozo, who clearly doesn’t like them. The writing has been on the wall since last season, but they both rather stick around, and get kicked in the teeth . They should both stick it to Bozo Helton, and leave the team immediately.

  2. Matt Fink talks about not winning the QB starting position. Classy kid, deserves so much better than Clay Helton and at this point, USC…

How in the Fuck can that incompetent, shit for brains, asshole Clay Helton play these kids the way he did?

Stringing Fink and Sears along by saying the Trojans QB position was open, knowing full well he had no intention of starting anyone other than J.T. Daniels.

And then Helton has the Fucking nerve to tell Fink and Sears that they are now listed as 3rd and 4th string behind a true freshman, which everyone knows is bullshit.

If USC wants to continue to fuck over the kids on the Trojan football team by insisting on keeping this incompetent clown Clay Helton as head coach when every Gawd Damn fan of college football across the country can tell you that Helton has no clue what the hell he’s doing and shouldn’t be coaching anywhere…then USC deserves to be looked at and mocked for the laughingstock it has become.

Sports journalist and coaches from around the country simply cannot believe that USC has stuck with this idiot Clay Helton as long as they have.

Journalist and coaches just smile/smirk and shake their head in disbelief whenever they’re asked about USC Trojan football.

It’s as if they can’t believe USC would neglect it’s storied Blue Blood Football program the way they have for so many years by inflicting so much incompetence on it.

    1. Listen carefully to Fink’s interview —I’d say if Coach Harrell was even at the meeting with the quarterbacks, his presence was purely ceremonial. Fink as much as says that.

      1. Yep! And Harrell should stuck to his guns if he believed that much in Slovis —–but he probably struck a deal that puts Sovis in as starter the first time J. T. loses a game USC is favored to win (which I hope doesn’t happen).
As far as Helton himself goes —-his reputation couldn’t be any worse…..

    2. I hear you all the way.

But at the same time, Clay Helton has been around the kids and parents long enough where they should have seen the signs coming down the road.
In my opinion they should know by now what Clay Helton is about. The parents should be taking a lot of the blame because they allowed this to continue. Helton sold them the BS he’s been selling everyone for 2 years now.
Hope might have played a part in their decisions to stay and that’s normal, but I wouldn’t want my son going back to USC (besides finishing his education) on the terms of fighting for the qb job.

      Helton is not to trusted.

  3. Interesting and provocative discussion on this board lately, and occasionally, Humor makes an appearance. All is well.

P.S. Scott’s Snark is known far and wide, it’s on target and deserved 60% of the time, the other, it’s simply entertaining without the noise of the Sunshine Pumps in the distance.

  4. There’s always a way to pay a coach back when he screws a player. Get your undergrad degree.
JT won’t make it through 12 games & the first time a 4.55 WDE hits Mr ‘I’ve got to show em’ Freshman, well #3 & #4 need to get turf toe. Bide your time lads. The schedule is your friend.

  5. Harrell really thinks this kid Slovis will be a Starr. Let’s see if he’s right. In the meantime, I hope we don’t lose Bryce Young with all the Slovis talk. We should seriously think about bringing 2 more QB’s because we will probably lose 2 next year.

  6. Helton and Harrell are hyping Slovis because Bryce Young doesn’t fit USC’s profile of what a Trojan QB should look like.

Basically they’re sending a message to Bryce Young telling him, “Don’t even bother coming to USC unless you’re willing to switch positions to either a DB or WR”.

Helton and Harrell have no use for a 5 Star Dual-Threat QB.

    1. Do you honestly think either Helton or Harrell would know where to begin to coach a dual threat QB? They can’t even coach a single threat QB.

  7. I like CAL75’s idea, Fink and Sears both get a bad case of Turf Toe. Helton gets upset, who cares, they’re both gone at the end of the season anyway.
Fink got his degree in May, Sears will graduate in December.
Best scenario for both, find a school with appropriate Masters programs, do a grad transfer, get scholarship, even if they have to be back ups.
Get their Masters Degree…leave school DEBT FREE, move on, start their careers. Or get a draft analysis and see what comes back…either way it’s a Win…Win for these guys.
