  1. Words of Wisdom courtesy of C.L. Max Nikias

On Aug. 3, his first day in office, USC President C. L. Max Nikias greeted the young men of the USC Trojans football team at Heritage Hall and stressed that they have joined a long-standing tradition of excellence both in and out of the classroom.

“There is something special about how Trojan athletics and USC football serve as the glue that binds the Trojan Family together,” he said. “This Trojan Family is made up of 250,000 alumni. It’s made up of people young and old, from about 120 nations.

“It also includes millions of people who watch you on TV, including young people who decide to come to USC because of you. It’s thousands of young children in our neighborhoods, who dream of following in your footsteps, and who commit to working harder, so that they can achieve that dream.”

Nikias encouraged the scholar-athletes to take advantage of the diversity of academic and extracurricular offerings at USC, reminding them that they are role models and representatives of the entire university.

“We want you to become the kind of person who is known for undisputed integrity and character,” said Nikias, who referenced the wisdom of classical Greek philosopher Heraclitus, who said, “Character is destiny,” in explaining the relationship between a person’s fate and his bearing in life.

“Most of your life will come after your playing days,” Nikias said. “Your life will then consist of what you have built here: good relationships, good education, and above all, a good reputation. So build wisely and well during your time here. Make it something that can last for a lifetime. Give your Trojan Family the best, and we will give you our best, for the rest of your life.”

C.L. Max Nikias reputation is shit!

    1. How can you say that? He quoted Heraclitus. Only a truly good man would quote Heraclitus.
[I keep saying this —I have this sneaking suspicion that someday soon a video of Swann and Clay laughing and counting money with Nikias is gonna surface —they’ll be bragging about how easy it was to make millions betting against USC in football]….

  2. Ok, watched all the QBs interviewed and Harrell. Something bigger is going on with the program, IMHO. Everyone I watched on YouTube today is hiding something. I don’t think Sears is good, so it’s not that bandwagon. I think JT should start based on his job last year. But there is a weird vibe going on with Harrell, JT, Slovis, and Fink.

    1. I wouldn’t refer to it as a weird vibe —but Harrell plainly wants Slovis and Helton obviously wants Daniels. More tension between Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. More division on the team. It’s your typical Helton mishmash. How does he do it every year? He’s got to be the worst fricking manager in USC history.

  3. Just heard a podcast that featured Colin Cowherd and Harvey Hyde talking USC Trojan football and they both ripped Clay Helton a new asshole.

Basically they repeated what everyone already knows, Clay Helton doesn’t have a clue when it comes to coaching, he’s in way over his head, player development under Helton all these years is non-existent, the identity that Helton has established at USC is that the team is soft, the Trojans can forget about running the ball because although they have talented RB’s, the offensive line has been neglected for so many years as far as recruitment and having an offensive line coach that’s been worth a shit, the run game is no threat or anything to worry about.

Another good point they made was that Clay Helton has USC trying to be a finesse offensive team with this “Air Raid” offense instead of being what USC should be, strong up front in the trenches, opposing their will on teams and wearing them down late in games.

Bottom line is that Clay Helton can’t coach worth a shit.

      1. Real USC that’s Ryan Abraham Keeley Ure and Taylor Mays and has been running for nearly 30 minutes now. It’s not Cowherd or Hyde – Tebow is shoveling as usual

    1. 67 —You really want a peek into the future? The photo that will be posted by Scott most often by mid season will be the one of Helton and Harrell screaming at each other on the sidelines….being separated by confused
& terrified players….some of whom will be crying.
[Bonus! Preview of Keely Eure mid November, post Helton era interviews with players who had previously been silent: “Man, he was a fricking madman”]…..

    2. If you look at Baxter’s bio it is as empty as Helton’s ….grad of ‘Maras College’ in Dubuque-IA…wikipedia yr after grad on as grad assistant @ IA St….all assistant positions at: IA St., Tulane, ME, AZ, MD, Fresno St. (12 yrs.), MI and USC came in first under Kiffin (2010- 2013) returned to USC (2016-2019) – Charlie Weis Land i.e. it makes no mention whatsoever he ever played college ball

    1. Scott was referring to tebow specifically —it was a real public put down.
I felt bad for tebow…… it had to so humiliating to be called out like that by the blogger….. (if you listen carefully Scott even whispered “like tebow” after he said “negative ones”…..
