    1. 67 —Just watched hilarious Miami try to play football and their hilarious clown coach try to playcall —-I know I’m gonna be having nightmares that their QB and O-line will be wearing USC uniforms next week and their hapless coach will be wearing Clay’s windbreaker and baseball cap.
The Miami/Florida game was like watching USC vs Texas or Utah last year. Oh, please don’t do it to us again, Clay Helton….

      1. Manny and I probably disagree on the definition of the word “battle.”

      2. Michael, That was one sloppy and forgettable game. But it is good to see that Miami is still going classy with the all of the bling…

      3. 67 —Watching the Miami offense do absolutely nothing on their last few series was bringing back many unwanted memories. Their QB just stood in the pocket waiting for something to open up, then would get hit & fumble the ball —time after time. The worst part was their coach had that Helton-out-of-control-look on his face every time the offense came to the sideline. It won’t be good for our collective health if we’re in for the same thing next Saturday….

      4. Michael, In a normal year, the score of SC vs. Fresno State would be something like 38-13. But the Vegas spread is only half as large as that.

Hard to believe we’ve only had one awful season (note I said “awful”…). It seems like many more than that.

      5. 67 –Hawaii just a few moments ago beat Arizona worse than we did last year. Hope things click better for us this year —-if Drevno doesn’t have the o-line playing more disciplined than they did in the scrimmages, it’s gonna be hard on everybody —J. T., the tailbacks and the defense (which will be on the field too much).

      6. gt –It doesn’t feel good to hear the words, “the Pac 12 might be worse than last year.”

  1. The Trojans are not going to get better in the trenches until Helton is replaced.

Helton, like Kiffin and Sarkisian before him, has changed the face of USC football. No longer is being physical up front part of the game plan. All three aforementioned idiots abandoned the power run game for a hurry up passing game that hasn’t worked.

Sam Darnold had some success but that’s because he had to improvise and make something out of the nothing plays Helton and Tee Martin drew up. Darnold was fortunate to have Ronald Jones who also was able to use his talent to overcome bad coaching and even worse play calling.

USC needs a new head coach to bring back the Trojan style of play and that’s what it comes down to because what the Trojans are doing now isn’t working.

  2. I am of s mindset which says if these kids are big and usually strong and if slightly intelligent they can block the big and usually strong slightly intelligent kid across from them.
So what’s the big deal? They need solid coaching. They need to be trained to do their job as directed when directed. They need to respect (fear) their coaches so they know when then messed up and work independently to correct their errors. They need to know their audition for the NFL career starts with every snap of the ball. When that happens we will again dominate. My crystal ball says we aren’t in that neighborhood yet.
