USC Morning Buzz: A QB Wrinkle And Look At Fresno State

This week’s podcast covers the Pac-12’s poor start, a possible twist in the USC QB situation and looks at the Fresno State game.

Did you catch Clay Helton on Monday night’s USC radio show? He said having Graham Harrell, Clancy Pendergast and John Baxter puts the Trojans “back to a point where we can do some really, really special things.” Just give him an Oscar for delivering these lines.

  4. When Clay Helton and his staff are dismissed at the end of the season, I guarantee that Graham Harrell, and Clancy Pendergast will not be rehired as coordinators. That is all ! 😂

    2. John —I have the feeling that even if USC goes 6-0 to start the season, there are 4 or 5 folks that will be saying the same things about Helton, Daniels and Pendergast……

    1. I always thought that when Marlon Brando asked Martin Sheen if he were an assassin in “Apocalypse” Now and Sheen said no and Brando said he was just an errand boy, that Sheen should have asked if they could go back to the assassin question again so he could say yes this time.

        Agreed…thinking through the scenes in the movie…he doesn’t fit anywhere in it…except maybe in the extended (which I don’t care for) cut at the French family’s estate on the river…

Now, I am perfectly fine with kicking him and Graham Harrell to the curb if USC’s offense looks anemic the first three weeks, and then they get embarrassed against Utah, Washington, and Notre Dame.”

    “It’s not about starting JT Daniels, but Kedon Slovis being No. 2. If something happens to Daniels and they trot out a true freshman when Fink and Sears have seen actual action, the whole athletics department can go, as far as I’m concerned.”

      1. Yeah Michael, clemson and georgia both had terrible seasons after rolling out true freshmen QBs to replace their starters…oh wait no they didn’t.
