Jake Garcia Commits To USC

Narbonne QB Jake Garcia committed to USC tonight.

So USC suddenly liked Garcia a lot more once more Bryce Young switched to Alabama. And Garcia liked USC more.

So those of you who said Young did not want to compete yesterday. Does this mean Garcia did not want to compete because he committed today?

Garcia is a Class of 2021 recruit, so who even knows who will be around in 15 months when he could sign? Will Clay Helton? Will Graham Harrell? Will JT Daniels?

    1. Owns,

      Seriously brotha,
      C’mon.
      Cincinnati.
Not the Bengals. But the Cincinnati Bearcats hit Westwood with a quick dosage of “UPSET”
      &
THE SAN DIEGO ST AZTECS beat the Bruins at home.

Two basketball schools were too much for the Bruins. I think that says it all.

  1. Check out this gem of a paragraph –

  2. I am so depressed right now. Garcia had an offer from Cristobal. He coulda gotten a degree from Oregon! No offense, but isn’t USC fenced off from Compton? He’d have a better chance at a natty, not to mention better development for the pros AND coach stability.

    1. Did i miss the Ducks National Championship?

And it won’t matter when Urban Meyer is in Los Angeles. Oregon is overrated. They beat Washington last year. That’s it. They aren’t out recruiting USC. Let’s get that clear right now. They aren’t winning over players from going to USC, they’re just simply enjoying spoils from the Helton effect. Helton turns kids off. That’s it. No disrespect, but even if SC missed on Meyer and ended up with say Kyle Wittingham he would have USC at the top of the conference in recruiting again with a bang.
Pendergast and Helton exposed their IQ’s and work ethics on the field and in recruiting making kids turn down an SC before we offer a kid because these two are lazy.

      1. Christobal rated by NCAA fellow coaches as the most unsportsmanlike dirtiest college coach in America. 47%. Almost as much as all other college coaches combined.

      2. OK, valid points. But I think the greatest factor you have not considered is Phil Knight and Nike. The croots love Nike. What logo does every good football jersey have on it? Nike. Swoosh. Even USC has what is essentially the duck logo on it. I’m sorry, but USC just cannot compete with our cash flow thanks to uncle Phil. Give it time, times are changing and “tradition“ is a thing of the past.

And I would like to see Cal75‘s sources regarding coach Cristobal’s unsportsmanlikeness. Is this more fake news? Cristobal has more character than any Oregon coach since I’ve been a follower

      3. Honestly as a person who loves Nike and worked at the Cabazon store for 3 years I think the Nike thing has lost it’s pull these days. It’s either Nike, and then Adidas fight it out with Under Armour. If you were to ask a higher up at Nike who has carried the nike banner over the years for the college brand besides Oregon and North Carolina (beacause of MJ) they will say USC. SC always wears Nike, they will never wear another brand. They even put the Statue of John McKay a few years ago outside the Mckay Center making sure his shoes were Nike.

But another note. I will go on the record saying I want a new coach so i am ok with us losing games. Even to the Ducks, but in my opinion I think Oregon has a long way to go. They could very well be on the right path but I think they haven’t done much to get the early attention so quickly. I realize they’re class was Oregon’s best in years so that is a good way to motivate fans. I just think they have many things to check off to get to the upper level.
