USC has hired Paul Perrier as deputy athletic director.
He was senior associate athletic director at Rutgers but previously worked in compliance at USC, where he worked with interim A.D. Dave Roberts.
So even though Roberts is an interim, he is making hires.
This is actually a positive hire. Perrier was respected within the athletic dept. and with his compliance background won’t be beholden to the whims of donors/coaches, like so many of the long-timers that have held the dept. hostage for decades.
Now USC just needs to hire an A.D. with no USC ties.
Viva la Raza!

Do we really need more nepotism in the Athletic Department with Dave Roberts hiring another old lackey from his prior days as special adviser to Max Nikes ? The last person USC should have hired as Interim ANYTHING was Dave Roberts. Check the internet stories for this retread “new hire” by Dave Roberts.
As reported regarding Rutgers transgressions:
” It means that a resolution is near to the dark cloud looming over Rutgers football since the school retained a Kansas City-based law firm specializing in NCAA rules violations, as first reported by NJ Advance Media in October 2015.
Fourteen months later, the NCAA served Rutgers with a Notice of Allegations for seven possible violations related to recruiting, drug testing and academic misconduct that occurred prior to 2016.
Facing a “failure to monitor” charge, Rutgers is expected to be represented in Indianapolis by university president Robert Barchi, athletics director Pat Hobbs, football coach Chris Ash, university senior vice president and general counsel John Hoffman, chief compliance officer Paul Perrier and others.”

Paul Perrier was hired by Rutgers after all their transgressions went down and Roberts won an award from the NCAA no less, for his compliance work at USC

Roberts winning an award from the NCAA was a joke ! He was Vice President of Athletic Compliance and hired by C.L. Max Nikias (disgraced ex-USC President, who said this about him: “Dave Roberts helped USC build a gold standard for athletic compliance..” Really ? Meanwhile, under Roberts’ nose, criminal actions were taking place within his own Athletic Department that he oversaw with Haden. For example: (Los Angeles Times)
” The summer of 2011 was a fascinating time to be working in the USC athletic department. The university had a new president, C.L. Max Nikias, who was in the process of kicking off an unprecedented $6-billion fundraising campaign. Nikias had hired a new athletic director, former Trojan quarterback great Pat Haden, to rebuild the school’s image and restock the coffers of Heritage Hall in the aftermath of the Reggie Bush scandal.
Quietly, in the middle of this transition period, a little-known athletic department coordinator who was actively involved in coordinating the admissions process for incoming USC athletes received a promotion. Donna Heinel was to assume the position of senior woman administrator, a role developed by the NCAA for institutions to promote female involvement in high-level decisions.
She had come far since joining athletics as a Student-Athlete Academic Services staff member in 2003, and in her official statement released by USC on July 1, 2011, she sounded invigorated by the opportunity that she said “Pat Haden, Max Nikias and USC … bestowed on me” to operate at this moment in the university’s history.
“We are pushing through some challenging times right now,” Heinel said, “but I think just like a person or entity, our department is going through a stage right now full of life lessons and resiliency. … We will get through this. And everyone around the nation will see the power of the Trojan Spirit.”
Thank you Dave Roberts for showing the entire nation ” the power of the Trojan Spirit.”
Thank you USC President, Carol Folt, for showing us that you do not do your own homework. Max Nikias re-treads have no place at USC.
