With an early 12:30 p.m. kickoff, I’m starting this sooner than normal.
Washington is a 10-point favorite and USC is missing Talanoa Hufanga but you know how Pac-12 games can be. Who do you like?
If only Sam Darnold were playing quarterback like the last time USC went to Husky Stadium.
Sam has moved on Wolf. Rain in the AM in Seattle tomorrow. A little windy. that wont help USC. My guess is WA 35 – USC 21.

This is a big game for Washington… There’s 38 Californians on their roster…the weather is supposed to be partly sunny and in the 50s…it’s partly sunny right now…
Jacob Eason, the QB for UW, is very good…their DC schemes against the “air raid” offense very well….just ask WSU…but, SC’s receivers are better than most teams…
Common Opponent—BYU, at Provo….
USC 23–UW 34

This is a game in which no score would surprise me. The only thing I know is that Fink will play his heart out —win or lose.

I was pretty close on the Utah game with a pick of Trojans 31 Utes 27.
Hopefully the luck continues with:
Trojans 34, UDub 31
Stepp rushes 17 times for 105 yards and 2 TDs. (Wishful thinking, but he may be the key).

67, luck continuing…? That’s the last thing you want because the luck has pretty much been all bad. It’s not like the turnovers have gone their way, and I guess it would take a WR coming in to play QB before Trojan fans understand that the team isn’t winning on luck.

Stepp doesn’t play until the 4th quarter, if at all

Clay, not the luck for the team, rather “my luck continuing” in picking a score.

I agree this game is going to be tighter than Scott’s jeans after a trip to an all you can eat buffet.

Understood, 67. My mistake and I appreciate the spirit.

I think he’d run for a lot more than 105 with 17 carries. His yds per average # is pretty gawdy. With Carr’s fall off and the overall lack of a ground game, I have to eagerly join your camp with regard to Stepp.

MG, do you mean Velus Jones? If so, in the spirit of Kublai Kahn I say, “not his name.” I like the concept, but I’d want to see someone a little more clever doing that. Another tough thing about this offense is that it gets tougher to play the closer you get to the end zone. There just isn’t a lot of room to spread the defense out and they have less field to protect. It’s yet another implication of the new offense and it makes it feel like sustained drives with lots of plays isn’t an attribute or likely result. I bet the average play per drive is down even if the scoring is up…IDK, just guessing… I’m tired and kind of babbling right now, sorry…

MG, my guess is that’s not the first time she’s heard that kind of line. The fact that she married you might be an indication that she’s susceptible to such things. No offense intended…

i don’t wanna root against the team, fan boy!!! as for the game, nothing would surprise me in this ding-dong conference. but, for bad or good, the national perception is finally starting to catch up 😭: https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/texas-am-aggies/2019/09/26/why-the-nation-s-college-football-programs-are-trending-away-from-playing-neutral-site-conference-games/

Washington 42 SC 23. Fink will be fun to watch but this one is over by middle of third quarter at the latest.
Helton is then relived of his duties by Monday. The recruiting class must be saved and the school needs to turn the page. Urban Meyer, if he’s the coach, can then start recruiting and building a staff while an interim finishes out the year.
I can’t believe how poor the recruiting class may be this year. For that alone Helton must go. Washington will just finish him off.

Look, if the conference is so bad, then it’s USC’s solemn duty to expose it. Utah was outted last week and now it’s time to take the Dawgs on a long walk with a short leash. If this house is in disorder, then it’s time to impose and restore order. The conference must be cleansed through ruthless fratricide as our brethren are put to the sword for being the unfit contenders that they are.
I feel like +10 is a license to steal and the real bet is on the money line. I wouldn’t trade rosters with U’dub and the coaching advantage is way oversold.
If we can get the O-line to play as well as some other position groups along with getting some steady pressure and contact on Eason, this game doesn’t have to be that hard. Beyond that, as always, take care of the ball and do what you do.

Clay — As important as it is that the O-line brings it —-its even more important for the D-Line to play well —if we can get to Eason on a regular basis, the game is OVER….

Just make him uncomfortable and he may throw it to you or put it on the ground. It never hurts to check a QB’s chin and thereby his nerve.

Over the years it’s seemed to me that no quarterback enjoys the game as much after being hit so hard that they wind up doing two or three backwards somersaults…..

if this was Matts 5th game and SC would be 5-0 and …oh well it is hellton ball.
It would have meant a win…perhaps Was,ND are the mtns + maybe Oregon no matter who was the q/b incl Jack who left after helltons final insult.
But Matt in his second game can run if SC has planned for it and vs a 3 man front pick up some 1st downs and scramble…like with SAM,although Sam had a better ‘O’ line and had been practicing with 1st string much longer.
The defense is the bigger question.
Wash is a fairly veteran team too…it might be raining 50/50?
team may be excited and play their hearts out regardless of lousy practices…
SC 35-Wash 31
