USC Defense Depleted

USC’s defense looks depleted today as cornerback Greg Johnson (seperated shoulder) is out vs. Arizona and linebacker Palaie Gaoteote looks out with his foot in a boot today.

Cornerback Olaijah Griffin has a bulging disc in his back and is officially questionable. Cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart (ankle) is questionable and wore a boot on his tool

If Geoteote cannot play, he will be replaced by Kana’i Mauga or Ralen Goforth.

  1. Questionable? How could a fellow recover from a bulging disc to play football in 4 days?

Scottie, it is really time to get a grammar and spell checker when you write “Isaac Taylor-Stuart has a boot on his tool”.

  2. Gaoteote doesn’t have a lower leg injury. He’s out because some ND player violated his booty-hole at the bottom of a pile (I’m serious). Typical ND…

      1. 67- if I could ask Clancy who is supposed to make all the tackles, I wonder what his response would be: John Houston? Gaotoate ? Hufanga? Jay and Marlon both had subpar games against ND and Rector looks like a shadow of himself. People have questioned Stepp’s lack of participation on offense, what about Echols and McClain spotting Rector some on Defense?

      2. Arturo, I am guessing that Rector has come back to early from injury? He definitely played with a lot of heart, but he seems to be lacking the quickness he had previously as well as conditioning.

  3. 1st half of the season
    D is mostly healthy.
2nd half of the season in the ‘air raid’
ALL D liabilities exposed. D on the field more than 50% of the time & liabilities get more exposed each game.

I’m watching a rerun of what happened at CAL under Coach Sonny Ykes. 99% chance the SC defense will be decimated by the end of the regular season & it will be really hard to recruit good defensive players( & D coaches).
