NCAA Investigating USC Basketball

The NCAA interviewed former USC assistant coach Tony Bland about two weeks ago, according to a source.

This confirms USC is one of the schools the NCAA is investigating following the FBI investigation into college basketball corruption. Bland was sentenced to two years of probation and 100 hours of community service in June.

I’m also told USC is conducting another internal investigation of USC basketball.

  1. Curse of SC basketball. I remember when Morrison was here back in ’85 and he won league, the last time SC did that, and he left and they brought in Raveling and most of the team left. Two went to LMU and the kid from Mater Dei went someplace else. Same thing with Floyd, SC was starting to get going and then he was fired. Now this. I don’t think much will happen since it was a one man operation though. I hope SC goes unscathed. We saw the cheetin’ hillbillies of ugly for many years with that hillybilly Wooden get away with murder, which they did with abortion.

I call them hillbillies because they are in the hills of westweird.

      1. That is correct. I remember after I had written that. He was 6’11” tall. Gathers and the other kid from Philly went to LMU

    1. The NCAA would still be investigating the Wooden teams if they had the integrity to do so. But the NCAA understood that yanking 8 NCAA titles (in the words of Bill Walton) would have been a complete clusterf**k that would have set the NCAA and college hoops back for years.

      1. Actually it was Morgan, the AD for ruinville that saved uglies as$. He was good friends with the ncaa boss. It was written in the L.A. Times that if they had investigated ugly, they would have been suspended indefintely.

      2. This isn’t the first the bozo BB program has been busted for cheating. In fact, ’67, you whinny AH, chump, Clown U is the second most NCAA sanctioned Div. 1 Univ. SMU is the #1 NCAA sanctioned Div. 1 Univ.

Imagine that, two private sanctimonious Methodist, scumbag Universities are 1 & 2 in NCAA sanctions received.

Do everybody a favor ’67 stick your face in a lousy toilet and flush. Try not to break your ankle.

      3. ownsie, the truth hurts, doesn’t it? But then again, you seem to live in another universe when it comes to the Wooden years.

        8 championships down the drain.

Look on the bright side. Wooden might have earned 2 titles on the up and up.

  2. Interviewing all available witnesses in a far reaching investigation doesn’t mean that much really —it definitely doesn’t mean that the NCAA is focusing on USC…

    1. Bland plead guilty of taking money while in the employ of USC as a basketball assistant coach, aside from that, nothing to see here, no need to worry, don’t worry be happy………….

      1. karma — IF Bland was operating on instructions from above, USC is screwed. If he was freelancing, there really ISN’T anything to see….

    2. Oh yeah sure!

MG, do you think the NCAA is trying to lynch Clown U BB?

I’d prefer a public bozo BB hanging MG; Clown U schadenfreude is so damn gratifying.

  3. New NCAA rules hold the head coach responsible for anything askew in their program. Arizona took the stance in recruiting that anything that happens wont affect them until 20-21 season . I am sure they will drag it out thru appeals etc, but Arizona faces some serious consequences.

      1. Didn’t Don always seem like a really honest and decent man? [I loved what Mike Tyson said when he got out of his contract with Don King: “From now on when I get fucked over it’ll be by somebody new”]…..
