Did USC Tackle? Who Is Hurt? Who Knows?

USC has almost 20 players still on the injury list but you didn’t get a word out of Clay Helton on Tuesday about it.

Why? Because he doesn’t speak to the media once a week. It is apparently too taxing to perform basic media duties. Instead, the highest-ranking coach to speak on Helton’s day off is Clancy (no personality) Pendergast. Do you think he has a clue about the tailback situation?

So you have a head coach who closes practices because he doesn’t want fans to know there is little-to-no tackling in practice. And then he doesn’t even perform basic media duties once a week.

Is that who you want as the face of your program?

  1. Where is the leadership for SC? Where is the AD? who is running the athletic dept while this is going on? It is like cancer, you can’t cure the problem and it only gets worse in a very slow and agonizing way.

  2. WOW…FSU is gonna’ approach Meyer…denial is confirmation???
as usual sc is left in the dust bin…pretty soon sc ,a former powerhouse , will be like Nebraska, another former powerhouse or FSU another former powerhouse…I could go on,but I won’t.

  3. In the interest of balance, I’m GLAD Helton doesn’t talk to the media as much. Rather have him thinking about the next game….which, believe it or not, is what he’s doing with the extra time. And, according to the D-Line Coach, the team IS practicing tackling during their closed practices.

  4. We better root for the Cowboys. I think that’s more realistic than Urban going to USC, if the Cowboys don’t do shit. Jason Garrett is the clone of Clay in Dallas.
