Progress Report: No One Said USC Sucked Wind

Aren’t you glad Graham Harrell didn’t say Kenan Christon was “sucking wind” at Colorado?

Christon had 14 carries at high altitude so it’s a mild surprise Harrell didn’t mention it since Markese Stepp was accused of barely handling 10 carries at Notre Dame. USC could have used Stepp on Friday night.

  • Why did it take a rash of tailback injuries for USC to go to five wide receiver formations in Game 8? I thought the Air Raid would feature a lot of this from Game 1.
  • ESPN incorrectly reported Friday night that USC’s last win trailing by 10-or-more points was the 2017 Rose Bowl. USC trailed 30-17 last season and trailed Stanford 17-3 earlier this season.

  1. We bitch and moan about the assistant coaching staff ad infinitum – Pendergast, Harrell, Baxter, Drevno.

Could it be that Helton just brings out the worst in these guys as coaches?

    1. Ask the FB expert ’67 a FB question:

***Since the Piglet has returned from his 6-week mono vacation, he’s lead the Jets to 1 win, 2 losses; 4TD’s; 8 Int’s; 1 fumble (NE TD) and a safety.

So Mr. Expert, in your overblown opinion, did the Jets get corned holed drafting the Piglet #2 and squander $30million on his contract?

      1. owns, you came to the right place for football answers. Trojan67 is open for business.

Earlier today, you wanted to talk about the bruins, so talk about the bruins we will.

Today’s category is “Bruin QBs in the NFL”

This brings us to Josh Rosen. His current QB rating is around a 19. Not a typo. 19.

Now, if you wanted to go below sea level on the QB rating scale and obtain a ranking in that mythical negative territory, just put Rosen on that magnificent Jets team.

The Jets are a dumpster fire and should be put into receivership. No young QB – Darnold, Rosen, no one – should have to be part of that completely incompetent organization.

See ya round, owns. Don’t forget to visit all of those exciting bruin fan sites.

  2. To be honest Extra Stupid People Network hates the PAC 12. Here’s the logic behind that statement. ESPN is owned by Disney and Disney owns everything (except L.A. which in another world belongs to UCLA) So since ESPN doesn’t own the PAC 12 networks they can barely abide by the upstart league. By contrast ESPN has huge interest in the Stolen Equities Conference and All Crappy Conference. So when ESPN grudgingly makes millions showing a game, they have to choke back their contempt for the teams. ESPN had the fall badminton championships on their main channel and USC on ESPN 2. At one point the rooting announcers were so annoying I actually listened. They were saying Our running back, who can go in motion, before the snap of the ball moved too soon and should have been flagged for false start. The only thing worse than ESPN announcers are PAC-12 refs.

  3. Where the hell has Kal86 disappeared too?

I’m dying to read his professional break down and grade for Cal’s Saturday’s FB performance vs Utah.

  4. Memo to: ’67, the FB expert

’67, I believe your big mouth is open for business but your brain isn’t due to cerebral atrophy.

As usual ’67 you jump the POINT tracks with bold trivia/nonsense not close to the point of my original “Jets Cornholed” question.

Another example ’67, The Piglet’s QB game rating vs the Pats was a stupendous, larger-than-life 3.6. I repeat ’67, THREE point SIX (3.6).

That rating is absolutely worth a loser $30million contract.

New question ’67, why can’t the bozo’s cheat and not get caught?

    1. owns, I keep thinking that just one time you won’t walk into that big, steaming pile right in front of you. But you kept your perfect score.

You ask about cheating and not getting caught.

Obviously, wooden and sam gilbert are the poster children for your question of the night.

      As Bill Walton noted:

“If the UCLA teams of the late 1960s and early 1970s were subjected to the kind of scrutiny (other schools) have been, UCLA would probably have to forfeit about eight national championships and be on probation for the next 100 years.”

owns, it is as if I am paying you to ask these questions.
