  1. Here is another tweet from Dion:

“Smh, We let one of the best Motivators/ Recruiters in college WALK. Still get emotional thinking about that leadership meeting getting that weak explanation on why coach O wasnt going to be our head coach at SC. Happy af for Big O doing what we already knew he was capable of!!”

“getting that weak explanation on why coach O wasn’t going to be our head coach at SC.”

The reference to the “weak explanation” was Pat Haden, who has done as much or more to destroy SC football than anyone in the last 30 years.

  2. Without Pudly we are not getting any real Inside USC info. So Wolfie, try to run this rumor down…I hear Martin Jarmond (AD at Boston College) is in LA this weekend. He has been the AD at BC since 2017. Before that he was the Asst AD at The Ohio St University. He has a close friendship with a former football coach who presently works with Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart. So Wolfie, get off the couch and try to find out if there is any truth to this rumor.

    1. Calabasas —How disappointed are you gonna be when the USC “brain trust” selects an Athletic Director that makes Swann look good?

      1. MG, this is the one time that the University appears to be doing due diligence and selecting a qualified candidate instead of giving the job to a former football star. If they f this hire up, it’ll take us another 10 years to rebuild the football program. In my opinion, if they select an AD that is qualified who obtained the job through a proper vetting process and not because a big donor endowed the position, it allows the University to hire an Urban Meyer with some political cover. We hired a proven and responsible AD, and we have to let the new AD do his job, and the AD went out and got the best ball coach available.

    2. Parkway well played sir…well played….I also to wonder what has become of Pudly and also miss his ‘scoops’ mostly as they were real ‘finds’ rather than spiteful wisecracks.

It seems to me hiring Meyer does not require a ‘in situ’ AD due to Meyer’s feats but it is encouraging, as you have noted, there is a real effort this time to hire as they would a professor of physics – to confirm his skillset rather than the hamfisted way Nikias bowed to B. Wayne Hughes, putting that complete ass Swann in as AD who truly confirmed his ineptitude awarding Helton a 5 year extension.

Carol Folt did all of us a great service by getting rid of Swann first.

  3. Coaches like Marv Goux and Ed Orgeron come along once in a generation. USC was fortunate enough to have had them both. Our rich—but waning—football tradition was built on the backs of such men. CH is a “panty waist”, “milk toast” by comparison.
