We Have An Opening Line For USC-Oregon

Oregon opened a 7-point favorite over USC according to an early line from Las Vegas-based Circa Sports. It is now 6.5 points.

That’s more points than I expected but I’m not an oddsmaker.

  • Oregon is ranked No. 7 in the latest AP Top 25 poll. USC received 11 votes.

  1. USC will pick up a lot more than 11 votes in the next poll if they play good football and take out Oregon at the coliseum. We’re gonna get a chance to see if Harrell learned anything from watching his mentor Mike Leach call plays last night. Leach would call a play, it wouldn’t work, he’d note why not and, then, call the same play with just the right wrinkle on the next down. Let’s see if Harrell can think that fast on Saturday. It’s time for him to grow up as an O. C. Going into a game with a plan doesn’t mean you can’t tinker with it during the game. In fact, exactly the opposite is true……if you’re interested in winning.

  2. Biggest worry is not Harrell’s offense, although your points are well taken.

My biggest concern is Gashturd’s defense: “The bend, bend, then break in a disastrous manner at the worst possible time defense.” whOres RB #7 got 257 yards against wazzu’s “cougin’-it defense.” Might be tough sledding for SC’s defense.

Upset is possible, but at this point, not probable.

    1. Juan — I have this tendency to not even think about our defense (which come to think about it, should make Clancy feel right at home in my company). I’m thinking our only chance is to outscore ’em in a shootout….
