Report: Bob Stoops No Longer Candidate At Florida State

Former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is no longer a candidate at Florida State, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

This is newsworthy because Florida State athletic director David Coburn revealed Stoops was on a list of candidates and the school contacted his representatives.

It is also newsworthy because USC might want to consider Stoops. No one really knows right now what Mike Bohn is looking for and Stoops might be one of his top targets.

  6. The devil’s in the details….prior to the 2005 Orange Bowl Pete did an inspection of the field and noticed the type of dichondra that had been planted. He realized he needed a specific type of cleat to be able to get traction and minimize slipping – something Bob Stoops never thought about.

    Stoops’ skill set is gone – Kirby Smart has proved that

  8. Stoops is a good recruiter despite the fact that Oklahoma gets most of its best players from TX. With a SoCal base and with an occasional TX recruit, it could be a good combo. Stoops is a winner and would be an awesome consolation prize.
