Sunday Night With Clay Helton

Clay Helton said the team banquet was switched to next Sunday so more parents could attend since some will come into L.A. fo the USC-UCLA game. He also cited the early signing period as a reason for the early banquet.

So, no, it was not moved to fire him sooner.

Helton praised the freshman class of players.

“We knew the class was going to have to help us and we knew as they grew, our team would grow,” he said. “The future is bright here.”

He didn’t mention the 2020 recruiting class.

Helton said the refs made the correct call of targeting on Christian Rector.

“When you slow it down, you do see the crown of the helmet,” Helton said.

Helton said he was surprised how many one-on-one matchups the receivers had with Cal. This will be a question for Justin Wilcox, who apparently did not watch the Utah game film.

  1. This just in…Cal has hired Urban Meyer. Justin Wilcox had a nervous breakdown after being spoofed by Clay Helton yesterday. All he was heard to say was, Clueless Clay, Clueless Clay…

Calm down calm down. This was just the way a troll should be. No personal attacks, nothing good natured ribbing the way rivals go at each other.
As for Urban, his shelf life is dwindling with each day we need to void or zip it up.
