The SEC and ESPN Networks have signed a 10-year deal beginning in 2024.
That means on Saturdays you could have a 12:30 p.m. PT SEC game and then an ABC prime time SEC game.
That takes away opportunities for other conferences . . . like the Pac-12.
There will be plenty of 7:30 p.m. time slots available on ESPN. Thanks, Larry Scott!
Why would Cnn consider such a weak conference. As long as Helton is there USC should not be included, period. Why invite a weenie to a turkey roast.

Well this IS interesting. I am not sure if this site is for me anymore. Each email address used generates a unique symbol that represents the email address. One person on this page has 10 such symbols generated for his username. That is some next level trolling. And none of messages upon this thread has anything to do with the the purpose of the thread. It has developed into a prepubescent name calling.

Wolf, you obviously never took a class in the business school. CBS will need to fill the space previously occupied by the SEC. Viacom will not give up those advertising $.
Jeez, always making a mountain out of a mole hill.

CBS will fill it up with informercials and ice skating.

Larry Scott is a third-rate tennis promoter masquerading as the Pac 12 commissioner. The Pac-12 university presidents picked him instead of someone with experience because Larry promised big $$. Turns out the $$ weren’t so big, despite screwball game times in which the kickoff time isn’t known until a couple of days before the game. The pac-12 network never got off the ground – it is in 17 million homes versus 60 million for ESPNU and nearly 60 million for the Big 10 network.
And now Larry wants to be extended. Show him the door and hire someone who knows what they are doing, and Larry can go back to promoting team tennis.

I just saw the SEC commissioner talking to SVP on ESPN. Down to earth guy who said his proudest achievement this year was to get both the men’s sports off the ground but that also the women’s sports had their seasons. Talk about knowing your constituents. Larry Scott-no achievement to be proud of. Why did he cancel the season that was to start on Sept 26, when COVID cases were relatively low? ACC, Big12, SEC all had started by 9/26. Even the Big10 started in October. I don’t get what he is ever thinking

Larry Scott asking for a contract extension is almost as crazy as Donald Trump believing he should have been reelected based on his performance during his first (and only) term.

The PAC 12 channel can still be viable. If they get first rate announcers, and top of the line products, there will always a place for them on UHF. You’ll need one of those little circular antenna things and a cathode ray tube style television, but that’s viable right?
The reason the PAC 12 isn’t broadcasting this sea (that’s half of season) is because Bars are closed in the totalitarian states and bars are the only market the PAC 12 channel has. I had it for a while, but I only watched it three or four times a year it’s not worth the hassle.

Larry Scott has tenure. He’s there until he decides to leave. Here, on the left coast, they don’t worry about minor details like competence.
