    1. That’s exactly what USC needs right now!!! And if Cristobal looked like Saban, it’s because he was an assistant under Saban. I bet the young student-athlete who was flagged will never showboat during a game again. Lesson learned. Something our Trojans never learned in the 6 years under Gomer

    3. According to sources, President Folt and AD Bohn had phone meetings with Jim Tressel and Art Briels. They are looking for coaches in the mold of Pete Carroll. Guys who win games but have troubled moral track record. Bill McCarthy already said no. Next coaches on the docket are Lane Kiffin and Jim Mora…

      I think trOJans should hire Jack Del Rio and sign Ken Norton as DC and Mike Williams as OC.

  6. SUCCmeisters, with the exception of a ungodly bozo $$$ offer of employment, what would Cristobal gain in leaving Oregon for Clown U? Leaving Oregon for SUCC, Cristobal would be moving from an A- to a C– FB Program.

    Why would Nike allow a lower tier Nike sponsored University to poach the HFBC from Oregon, the premier Nike sponsored University? – LOL!

    Why, when Cristobal has no trouble recruiting in SUCC’s patch, leave an environmental Shangri-La for a smoggy, urban ghetto?

        I mean if Cristobal likes to conduct FB practices where players have to duck the odd, stray bullet, well then OK, I understand Cristobal’s interest. Clown U is the only Div. 1 FB program where a scholarship recruit can earn a Purple Heart.

Coach C has a crazy salary – highest paid state employee in the state of Oregon! Plus everything that Nike pays over – and under – the table, iykwim. No chance in hell USC lures him away.

    2. Yeah he’d run the ball, but I don’t think he would be as successful head coach at USC. He really wasn’t a successful coach for the Chargers. Some guys are better at being assistants than head coaches.

  8. Ohio St. isn’t that good this year and Oregon isn’t much better. I wasn’t impressed when the Ducks beat a decent Buckeye team.

    Cristobal is a poor man’s Ed Orgeron wannabe. He’s not that good of a coach, he’s over-rated.

    Look at his record at Oregon, he had one good year at 12-2 and they didn’t play a tough schedule. They lost to Auburn to open the season and lost to ASU. They beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl…Pffft!

    Big mistake if USC throws a bunch of money at him and convinces him to take the job.

  9. Whoever they get we want the team to fear him/her (no telling how far Bohn will go) more than they fear losing. They should respect him/her more than fear.
    He/She needs to know football better than the competition and not be afraid to pull stuff like letting the rugby kicker run a fake.

    1. Yes it is. Apparently, he’s making inquiries into the possible job openings at Clemson, FSU, Iowa State, Indiana, Miami, North Carolina, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin. But “sources” say that he’s holding out for the OC job at Bama once O’Brien leaves at the end of the year.
      He wants to bring the Faith, Family & Football concepts to take Bama to the next level.

  13. I would still love to hear who the Wolfman is pulling for to become the next USC football coach. He was right about James Franklin at the end of 2013 when USC was looking for a coach and Franklin was still at Vanderbilt. He advocated for him and he has since proven himself. I’m just curious who he would prefer now.

  16. If Dave Aranda keeps winning at Baylor, he is a good pick. He was already slated to be DC before they hired TO. Aranda is a smart cookie. That is what we need, football brains. He had a tough first year as HC, but the sign of a good football coach is improvement each year. On the other hand, TO has generally had defenses that got worse under his reign. And GH’s offense is getting worse each year.

    I like a defensive coordinator background as HC. A good defense can be reloaded every year. Offenses can have up and down years, based on talent.

    I’m tired of all the “big names” from the past. Meyer is not turning the Jaguars into winners. Is Bob Stoops still as sharp and capable as he was in the past?

    Sure Mario would be a good coach, but I just hate the guy. Isnt he better as the villain in the story arc of the revival of SC football?
