It looks like USC tailback Keaontay Ingram is turning pro.
He was a highlight of the offense last season and his physical play was a plus, but with tailbacks having such small windows in the NFL, it probably makes sense for him to leave. Don’t forget USC also loses Kenan Christon.
I’m intrigued by freshman Brandon Campbell from his very brief appearance against Cal. There’s also Darwin Barlow but the fans will obviously clamor for Mater Dei freshman Raleek Brown.
Ingram has some very impressive career statistics between Texas and USC. Yes, bring me Raleek Brown and/or transfer talent ✌️

Scooter,
How much experience is in the backfield? You have to have one or two guys that are in the system whule the new ones find out what it is like to play in college ball.

Riley should go after Christan. The men hating feminazi student counsel has ruled that he can rejoin the team in May. I think that he is mad because that will cause him to miss spring practice. He sees that as the feminazi’s trying to punish him some more. Riley should let him know that they want him back and he will get adequate chance to break into the rotation in fall camp. He’s a good running back, not just a track man. In fact, her says that he is giving up track.

Scottie, what is going on with him?

Christon offers a unique skill set which all Offensive-minded coaches crave–breakaway “take it to the house speed” and cutting ability.
Riles knows this and will get Kenan 10+ touches per game.
Kenan knows this. Just gotta get the kid “eligible.”

Christian is a super talent just as good as Barlow or Campbell with much more speed which Riley should like. Throwing to a speedy back out in the flat can make all the difference in the world and Christian can take it to the house on any given play.
It would be stupid to let Bru McCoy and Christian go. They are good apples not bad troublemaking kids. McCoy is the big physical receiver we need.

Tell me what Bru McCoy has ever done since leaving high school with a head the size of the Goodyear Blimp.
He’s the second coming of Whitney Lewis.

There is a bit of that going on —but it would be nice if USC would give McCoy the courtesy of due process: enough time has elapsed, announce a decision and let’s all move on.
I know I keep harping on it…but… I think it would be nice if Bohn would step up to the plate and show a little of that “solidarity” with “black student athletes” he promised a year ago….

Negative…..Whitney Lewis was a total bust. McCoy has shown signs of the ability to excel at this level. Just because he didn’t break into the starting lineup…….He was playing behind Pittman, St. Brown and Vaughns. That was the best receiving combo in the country in 2019. The first chance he really got was in 2020 where he caught 21 passes while still playing behind St. Brown, Vaughns and London.

Funny to think, at the time, how great it was when Bru McCoy & Chris Steele flipped to USC and thought these were going to be real, impact players.
Steele, overrated and under-coached and Bru, unknown illness and then in the doghouse.

I think the solidarity with black student athletes needs to be further clarified to exclude cisgender males. That’s an easy fix though, there are another 60 or so options to pick from and one only needs to say they “identify as” (fill in the blank). No show, just tell…

Christan was simply in a fight. That shouldn’t get him kicked off of the team forever. What about the guy whom he got into a fight with? Was he punished in any way? McCoy is a different story. He was accused of some kind of sexual harrassment. The burden of proof should be on the accuser. Remember that old foundation of law in america…..innocent until proven guilty? Welcome to “woke” america where we now do things differently. He needs to file a lawsuit to clear his name or he might not be able to play anywheres in todays “american stupidity”.

What happened to Bru McCoy is common practice at SC. Matt Boermeester…..He was having fun with his girlfriend. Someone on the fifth floor of the dormatory saw them….interpreted it as abuse….reported it and the Feminazi’s on the student conduct committee kicked him out of school. He was just 3 units from graduating from SC. Both him and his girlfriend separately sued the university saying that there was no abuse at all. But the university refused to budge from their imbecilic judgement.

Before we all evaluate Bru McCoy let’s first give him a chance to get back on the field. His first year at SC he was seriously sick, and missed most of the season. In Year 2 he was incorrectly punished.
Everyone has the right to an opinion, but a player needs to be given the chance to perform on the field before he is evaluated not before. I remember a guy named Anthony Munoz who was also hyped and underperformed at USC early due to alot of injuries, but boy did he perform well with a clean bill of health in that final Rose Bowl Game in 1980. If I recall correctly he was a 1st Round Pick, and an All Pro after underperforming in college.
Bottom line Bru has tremendous ability. The question is will USC give him the opportunity to perform and prove people wrong, or will he have to take his show elsewhere. He certain deserves that opportunity at USC to silence the critics who have already written him off as a bust which is very unfair.

I really hope that you are right but I’m not convinced that you are. Neil Postman wrote a great book back in the 50’s that describes where we are at in american today. It was called ‘Amusing ourselves to death’. The average american today knows more about ‘Dancing with the stars’ and ‘Singers with masks’ than they know about the very people that they vote for. When I see them start voting against all these kooks who are trying to force us to believe that there are 50-100 genders and you can be a boy today and a girl tomorrow and you’re a racist because you don’t have enough pigment under your skin and if you want to get rid of crime just defund the police…..then I’ll start thinking you are right. But I really do hope you are right. I hope that they are getting fed up with all this stupidity.

That’s a really good article. Everyone should read it. When it says “USC places the entire responsibility for the investigation, prosecution, fact-finding, and adjudication in the hands of non-sworn, non-licensed individuals who act as police, prosecutor, and judge without an evidentiary hearing”….they are talking about these anti-men feminazi’s on these student conduct committees who have totalitarian power to do whatever these twisted minds decide to do.

Only mildly impressed by Ingram. He was a dancer at the line of scrimmage…and taking too many lateral steps. He’s not a quick running back so the dancing to pick a hole is self-defeating.

He DID make his yards without much help —that’s the way it is these days for USC running backs……

We did see that but that is an example of every back trying to run out of shotgun or pistol formation. They never get a head of steam. They are stationary until the ball is put in their belly. Add in inadequate line with no holes blown open and you have to dance or get stonewalled.

Ingram was a great one year portal addition and–despite stupid comments above–was a wonderful RB for USC. With any sort of competitiveness in the Pac 12 by USC, he would have gained 1200 yards rushing and some decent receiving yards. I doubt he will make
much of a splash in the NFL, but I hope he makes a little cash for all his years of FB effort. Hopefully a diploma with the USC crest also.
(A diploma from Texas is not bad, but it’s not USC).
I don’t think Barlow nor Campbell have the speed nor grit to be a 1000 yd tailback. Raleek Brown will need a year to learn how to protect the QB and will frustrate the OC/HC, but here’s to hoping he is our next “star” RB. Christon could be a nice breakaway threat in the backfield and getting him in for Spring Ball would be a bonus.
