Notes: Quite A Sun Bowl

You didn’t really think the Pac-12 would go undefeated in the bowl season, did you?

And even though Pitt was missing a lot of players, the Panthers weren’t in El Paso on vacation.

Good for El Paso. It’s the friendiest bowl out there because of its volunteers who cherish the Sun Bowl.

  • Caleb Williams said, “I feel good” when asked about his status for the Cotton Bowl.
“I’ll be smart about it, try not to do anything crazy. Maybe. But I’ll get out there and play ball and play off of that.”

Trench month Suck. Nice role model. You can take him out of the ghetto but you can’t get the ghetto out of him.

      1. I’ll check on it and get back to you post haste. All I can comment on is we don’t have a qb or an oline. Other than that we’re solid.

In all sincerity, how’s your health?

Outside, 8/10. Inside, 2/10. Every new day is paradise. 6am to 8pm everyday. Pomegranate juice, certified organic diet, lotsa rest.

Thanks for asking. Happy, safe and prosperous New Year.

From the sublime to the ridiculous: There obviously is something wrong with Sark. I remember the story about a player coming to his office at USC to register a complaint about racist comments ….and Sark screaming at the player “get the fuck outta my office.” The incident was picked up by several newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times.
People handle pressure in different ways ….but it’s hard to justify Sark’s odd behavior. He probably shouldn’t be coaching.

      5. Mr Gab
May I point out that Cal & SC are 2-2 last four games. Also Cal currently and in the foreseeable future has nearly $900 million in NFL salaries and will have that or more for the next several years. About twice as much as SC.

Cal Berkeley is a unique environment and while hard for many to adjust to, those that can usually prosper. It’s not all about being an NFL farm team like some universities aspire to. So if you continue your unfiltered and condescending pablum just remember this; Cal is in charge of the United States Treasury and U.S. nuclear policy through Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos. We can terminate your debt card and turn off your electricity. Don’t forget.

  3. Props to Pitt for pulling one out of the fire, despite their coaches questionable play calling and clock management at the end of the game. But it’s typical UCLA. Anytime UCLA is the favorite, or has something to protect, they spit the bit. Throw in the fact that DTR was too busy running his mouth and ends up throwing 3 picks and makes for a great day.
As far as Sark, this is yet another example of a person who is not psychologically equipped to be in a pressure packed job like the Texas job. If he has any self awareness, which I seriously doubt, he should call that person and apologize.

    1. Actually —if Sark has any self awareness [which I also seriously doubt] he should take a long vacation. He is an odd man ….and shouldn’t be representing a quality college program or leading young men.

      1. The problem with Sark is that he doesn’t believe he has a problem. I have two close friends who are in AA and have been sober for the last twenty three years. They’ve both seen the clip and came to the same conclusion that this is typical alcoholic behavior.

      2. We’re watching a slow train wreck. If the Texas A. D. has any sense he’ll see Sark’s burned out ….and something REALLY embarrassing is just around the corner.

      3. trojnfn4, maybe your friends are describing what’s called a “dry drunk” where you’re sober, but miserable or they are insinuating he’s relapsed?
If he’s relapsed, they’ll know soon enough, pretty hard to hide that for very long.
If Sark was driving and suddenly got cut off by a driver, maybe I could see that, spur of the moment outburst as he’s yelling to himself, but his belligerence toward that dude was pretty f’n scary.

  4. Scooter,

Some things never change, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Rain is wet. And the best one is that U Clowns Lose Again and they uphold their name and as usual the ugly fans did not travel. Also, that starting qb for ugly quit on the team. He did not play in most of the second half

      1. Crabs, at least DTR wasn’t crying, like a spoiled, little baby after the game, and we didn’t lose by 23 pts. like the bozo Vegas choke job.

Crabs, OTR 24/7, and loving it.

      2. Claiming another moral victory….nice try. Caleb stayed in the game and fought like a warrior, unlike DTR with his menstrual cramps.

You have been running your mouth for weeks, now the joke is on you. How does it go, with 34 ticks on the clock, choka choka choka choka…..(love how that sounds!)

  5. This is the second posting of my take on the UCLA defeat:

Damn, UCLA couldn’t have stunk worse in the 2nd half. The Bruin OC should be tarmac’d in El Paso.

Bottom line: The Bruins lost, deservedly; I have no damn excuse(s) for their stinking, piss-poor 2nd half performance.

    #Adios DTR finally.

  6. 5 pac 12 teams have won 10 games this season, that must be some type of record.

I guess it was too much to expect ucla to show up and be the 6th Pac-12 team to win 10 games. I think ucla went 3-4 in their last 7 games, but Chip is still getting all the donuts he can eat along with his $6 million per year.

Happy Friday, Everybody! I just wanted to ask everybody to refrain from doing anything in 2023 they’ll be ashamed of at some later date. You might be tempted to pretend you didn’t know alleged “walk- ons” were never showing up for practice so you can help rich donors get their kids athletic scholarships…..or maybe you might wanna give the game ball to a woman in a miniskirt ….but don’t do it….you’ll just wind up alienating all your players and getting yourself fired for incompetence in the end.

    1. It kinda was a surprise, World —cuz he actually lost it before the game began…. Sark was being told to stay in the tunnel until it was time for the team to come out on the field —and —outta the blue —he turned into Faye Dunaway doing the ‘digging up the rose bush’ scene in Mommy Dearest…

  11. SUCLA—–LOSES IN THE SCUM BOWL NO EXCUSES….BECAUSE LOSING IS EXPECTED WITH UCLA FOOTBALL, AND NOBODY REALLY CARES ABOUT THE PROGRAM OR THEY WOULD GO TO THE GAMES AND HELP PAY THE RENT AT THE ROSE BOWL.

    1. tommyd, crying, whining and making cheesy excuses for a football defeat is typical of spoiled, bozo rah-rah babies.

I mean you can’t make a point w/o shouting like a chimp with a severe case of colic. Get a grip sonny.

Over the years the Bruin FB team, has, in the main, been much better than SUCC’s cream puff, men’s BB team program. As far as I know tommyd, UCLA has never finished below .500 in FB, BB and baseball, in the same year, like Clown U. Lay it on me tommyd, what’s Clown U pathetic excuse?

And tommyd, the best former SUCC BB player is still Reggie Miller’s sister Cheryl. What’s up with that d?

#The attendance for this year’s Long Beach St. vs bozo men’s BB at the Chicken Coop: a stupendous, 1839 fans. I’m reliably informed that announced attendance of 1839 fans was highly inflated.

It’s a well known fact Mr. d, you can’t believe what Clown U self reports.

  12. sucla loses, sucla loses– that balances out (somewhat) the sobering news of SC being accused of cheating again by misrepresenting its true Academic standards and achievements, a serious charge affecting students’ decisions on which college to attend based on “official” Academic standings forecasts

    1. LJ, the Bruin’s last second Sun Bowl defeat and SUCC’s pathetic, reprehensible, false academic, self reporting integrity are mutually exclusive. Even for a Lawyer, such as yourself sir, that’s a tough hair to split.

      1. No! They are exactly the same thing! I was talking to Carol late last night & she pointed out when a favored UCLA team loses in the last seconds it’s constitutes the exact same kind of fraud seen in USC’s padded academic stats.

    1. Charles — I remember wondering what an aging Muhammad Ali was planning to do against Larry Holmes in their Championship bout. I always thought Ali understood his condition better than his doctors or trainers so I wondered what he had up his sleeve. Did he think he was gonna dance for 12 rounds? On aging legs? Did he think he would knock Larry out in the first 5 rounds? With no punch left? I braced for the worst.
I don’t know what game plan Lincoln has in mind for the Cotton Bowl —but it can’t involve a running QB —cuz Caleb shouldn’t be risking getting hit. And it can’t involve throwing long balls cuz our makeshift o-line can’t protect Caleb for the length of time it’ll take for the play to set up.
I guess it’s gonna have to be some combination of runs & short passes.
[And lots of determination and ‘want to’]!
