USC Gets Coveted Offensive Line Transfer

Washington State offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston, who was graded the No. 1 pass-blocking guard in the nation by Pro Football Focus, is transferring to USC.

Now I find some of the Pro Football Focus ratings to be strange and let’s face it, if you face a three-man rush or have Caleb Williams running around avoiding sacks, you are always likely to be graded higher.

But here is where I believe Kingston is a player: He was offered by Ohio State last month. And Auburn. And Mississippi.

I think USC’s interior linemen were overrated last season so this feels like an upgrade.

      1. btw, It looks like Coach Riley is bound and determined to PROVE that you can win with offense alone. He’s gonna out-offense the entire Pac 12 in 2023….

      2. Michael, WTF is Scottie doing talking about how a Wazzu D-lineman is graded higher because of Caleb Williams? Take a look at his post. It is a non sequitur.

  1. Everyone one is supposedly highly sought after that Lincoln Riley gets from the transfer portal, until it time to play. Other than Caleb Williams, and Travis Dye, last year transfers were average at best, and didn’t really make a difference. When is Riley going to address the line of scrimmage with 5 star players? This Big 12 bull shit that Riley brought from Oklahoma is not going to win any national championships…

  2. that is a big win.

will they also get Anthony Lucas for the defensive line?

i just wonder about the scholarship math. if we are already over the scholarship limit, are we counting on alot of players to leave after spring practice, or after graduating at the end of the year? can we kick out players on scholarship?

  3. This guy is big time. I think that he will definitely play on Sunday. I didn’t think that we would get him because Ohio State wanted him bad. But he is a California kid and I guess he wanted to stay closer to home.

  4. Fanboys can spin all day, but the turd in the punch bowl, which can’t be scooped out, is this is an element of the Air Raid mentality. Disregard the fundamental principles of championship football, resist seeing what’s before your eyes ( like watching Georgia, OSU, Michigan ( this year ) , Alabama ) for championship formula of defense, LOS play, good special teams, top assistants). What else gets overlooked is the how significant it impacts recruiting 4-5 star kids. Until corrected by an epiphany from the heavens, we will be a WSU on steroids yearly.

    1. Lincoln Riley can’t coach what he doesn’t know, which is tough, physical football. His Oklahoma teams never played defense, so why should he start now… because the Fanboys think he should? 😂. The Leach philosophy was created for teams that struggle recruiting talented linemen, and that’s right up Riley’s alley.

    1. It’s all about the money nowadays. In the twelve years from 2009 to 2020, Alabama won the NC 6 times……about once every 2 years. Then in 2021 and 2022, Georgia won it twice in a row signaling that Alabama is no longer the big Kahuna in college football.
Now all of a sudden, this year Alabama comes up with one of the greatest recruiting classes ever. That tells me that Saban is telling everyone from the governor down to the lowest person in power….”we need to get back to the top no matter what it takes….if it takes money spend it….it you have to break rules, break them” and Nick has power in the state of Alabama. It was said during Bobby Knights heyday in basketball that he was the most powerful man in the state of Indiana.
You could have a kid in SoCal who grew up loving trojan football and his family loves trojan football….all he ever wanted to do was play for SC….then SC offers him….he commits and then Oregon comes along at the last second and offers him a huge amount of money to come to Oregon. He’ll take the money and run and not even his parents will advise to stay home. It’s all about the money.

  7. I’m glad we managed to snag this guy. Maybe he can teach the defense how to tackle having seen them across the line. He’s probably got an insight on the defensive coordinator thinks. Although USC’s defense almost looked good against WSU, they still allowed two passing touchdowns in one quarter. Any insight would be helpful.

  8. The comedy of this post, where do I begin? The WSU player, Kingston, made a public post about how the offer from USC was for his grandmother. The writer, Wolf, speaks about how he played in the interior but last year he was a tackle and he only played eight games before he was hurt. To make it more hilarious, Wolf decides to take shots at the players who played last season and called them overrated-so Dedich is overrated? Why not ask for his scholarship to be revoked and make him play as a walk-on? Scott, I’d love to see what you will say when USC has met your expectations because it looks like your expectations cannot be met under any circumstances.

    1. The number 2 offense in America.
Successful in both running and passing the ball.
Stopped in only one game–Ore State.
Successful versus 5 top 25 defenses this year (Tulane was #25 prior to playing the Trojans)

How do you become the #2 offense in America with a terrible O-line?

I doubt very much that any black or brown person has ever been offended by the word “field”. Virtue signaling is out of control. The idiot who thought of this should be fired.
