Arizona got six commitments on Monday. Six!
What is this rush for recruits to commit in mid-June? I’m convinced for some schools it’s not even about the team getting better, it’s about creating recruiting buzz for the summer.
At least two of the Arizona commits don’t even have a star ranking. What are the odds some of these schools don’t even take some of these guys who are committing this month? Arizona has nine commitments with an average star rating of 2.38. By comparison, Stanford’s recruiting class is 3.14. And USC is 3.64.
- Stanford has the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation according to Rivals. Now one reason is because the Cardinal have 22 commitments, and the team rankings reward total commitments. but the Cardinal (read Coach Troy Taylor) are still doing an impressive job given their lowly form the past couple seasons.
I won’t be surprised if they pull an upset or two this season.

For instance when I played Pop Warner football in West Covina, coach McKay would attend games his son played in. I committed to USC right there at Cortez park. Sparrow: If you live in Chinatown, there is a huge homeless encampment about 2 miles from you. It starts in what is commonly known as skid row. Looks like Calcutta. It could be removed and the drug addicts and mental ill helped but most people don’t care about such things. Agree that one sees what one chooses to see. There were people on the Titanic urging the Captain to slow down and avoid the iceberg. Others helping the women and children get into row boats. And some continued to drink brandy and listen to the orchestra. What’s your favorite tune counselor.
