USC Notes: Recruiting Continues To Be At Forefront

As USC piles up a dozen commitments in June, here’s a paragraph for the the Athletic on Pac-12 recruiting: “Mater Dei in Santa Ana, a traditional pipeline program for USC, has four of the top five players in the state, and it doesn’t appear any will sign with the Trojans.”

  • Four-star wide receiver Dre’lon Miller of Silsbee, Texas, will make his college announcement at 5 p.m. PT today.
  • Former USC player/coach Kenechi Udeze has been hired as a defensive analyst at the University of Houston.
  • Pitcher Jared Feikes of Santa Clara is transferring to USC. He was 6-1 last season with a 5.09 ERA.

  1. Scooter,

Regarding MD, why does the person think that none of the recruits will sign with SC? Is it because of too much offense and not enough defense, that the new coach at MD is not helping SC like Rollinson did, NIL might be better at another school, or SC is not recuirting them and they are going to the states of texxass and okiehomly from where Riley is from?

    1. A bunch of Trojan pitchers had less than exceptional E.R.A.’s….. Andre Agassi’s son is a very solid thrower but I think his E.R.A is up around 9 something….

  2. MD athletes come to SC . I don’t see them doing anything better for the last 70 years than any other schools athletes.SC will be just fine with or with out them.If SC is not that athletes #1 choice, they are not trojan material…period

      1. That is a good sign, Michael. But even if he had, none of us should care. Well, according to a dumbass who thinks he speaks for everyone on the blog. LOL

    2. MSM was editing that stuff in 2020. That, along with covering up all of the family payoffs & referring to them off as disinformation helped him get elected. The REAL election manipulation/fraud!

Anyone who didn’t have their head lodged firmly up their butt knew he was corrupt & suffering from dementia long before the election.

      1. Lib World the hypocrite who says she hates political posts is now crying on another post because race based admissions to colleges like USC was eliminated today by the US Supreme Court. Seems Lib World and Owns are racists who are extremely upset at Judge Thomas for daring to leave the Democrat Plantation and think for himself.

      2. As Biden’s attempts to sell us out to the highest bidder become & more clear we’re all gonna have to care…. cuz we’re all gonna have to deal with it….

  3. There is still a possibility that several of the MD players will end up at USC, particularly if SC gets into the CFP. But what really matters is we are not losing players to Oregon and UCLA and Washington.

USC is losing out to some top programs like Ohio State and Alabama with local recruits, but not to Pac-12 teams. This is a huge step forward from the Helton era.

To look at how things have changed in just over a year, it is simply amazing.

Let’s see where USC is on the charts after the end of the season. I would bet they are in the top 5.

    1. I agree gametv, with all the talent at RE, we should be able to rotate and keep fresh bodies to withstand the quick strike offense we have. We definitely will be able rotate multiple players at every position on defense. The DC must be able to scheme a defense that highlights each player strengths.

  4. Well, the QB wasn’t interested in waiting behind Nelson, when Stanford gave him a chance to start as a freshman. The two offensive linemen are still not declaring where they want to go and the bid D-tackle, is thinking about going to Georgia(?!?!!) so bless his heart. The cornerback is still thinking about going to USC and has the Trojans as one of his schools in the running. Clearly, Wolf, wasn’t interested in offering a complete picture. Or commend the coaching staff for having a real impact in getting players right from Georgia’s backyard that they desperately wanted. Silence is indeed golden.

    1. One of the linemen had a brother at oregon. The second hasn’t been made a priority, the qb wasn’t even offered till late.

  5. I have nothing bad to say about Biden, the economy tanked on its own. He reminds me of Walter, Jeff Dunham’s grumpy dummy. Or maybe Mr. Magoo. I’ve noticed he is stemming (movements used to help concentration) lately. He looks like he’s holding an invisible newspaper. Sure he makes mistakes like picking Kamala to replace him, but what president didn’t make mistakes?
