Duce Robinson Goes Undrafted

Duce Robinson went undrafted in the Major League Baseball draft today.

That means he should play football and baseball at USC. The fact he wasn’t drafted shows teams were probably unwilling to invest much in him with football taking so much of his time.

But it’s a good thing for Andy Stankiewicz. If Robinson is as good as his hype, there’s no question he should play baseball in college, although that rarely goes as planned for many incoming college athletes.

  1. Why is it a big deal not getting drafted to go spend countless years playing minor league ball when college ball is considered as good as triple A, or close to it. Let Duce be a kid and enjoy his time at USC in one or both sports, then he can if he has the chance, make the decision where to go either football or baseball.

    1. Countless year’s is right. Only 10 percent of minor league players make it to the major leagues and can earn a lucrative salary.

  2. Scooter,

This could be a blessing for Duce. He can grow in both sports and improve. With football the championship game is over around Jan 10. Baseball opens in early Feb. All he has to do is get his timing down for hitting. A month would be about right. In three years he can be drafted in the high numbers with his experience of being able to carry both sports and schoolwork. He will get NIL money so he will be fine. Let him hone his skills in college.

    1. Well said, PT. Duce will first have to prove he can hit a D1 curveball before he would have any chance of playing in the Majors
