  1. ‘Ol Mule Shoe’s boyfriend Alex Grinch will be the downfall of USC football in 2023.

‘Ol Mule Shoe will still refuse to fire his boyfriend Alex Grinch after the Ladies of Troy finish the season 8-4

  2. Hey Wolf, I have $1k that says Caleb surpasses those numbers by the end of the 10th game. Are you game?

(caveat: he must start all 10 games or the action is void)

  3. interesting that Penix is the only QB higher. Washington is going to be quite a game.

i would really love to see a few teams undefeated when we play them… notre dame, utah, washington.

but of course, I want the ducks to have a horrible season. i hate them 10x any other team. also want to see Oklahoma lose, so they can stop acting like losing LR was no big deal.

    1. I recall last preseason that Scottie was predicting Caleb would suffer from to many interceptions.

      Here is Caleb’s season log

      4537 yards, 42 TD, 5 Int, 67% completion, 382 yards rushing, 10 rushing TD

Best QB season by far by any USC QB

Here is Carson Palmer’s Heisman year for comparison:

      3942 yards, 33 TD, 10 Int, 63% completion, -122 yards rushing 4 rushing TD

Might never see another USC QB at Caleb’s level; I hope that Scottie can enjoy what Caleb does this season.

      1. Absolutely agree.

Caleb is a generational talent like Anthony Davis, Ricky Bell, Brad Budde, Anthony Munoz Ronnie Lott, Keyshawn Johnson and all of our Heisman trophy winners.

We all need to enjoy this season as Caleb is a man playing against boys.

Scott please show Caleb his due respect this year!!

    2. I think Penix’s number is based on more pass attempts. Isn’t one of his receivers the pre-season Biletnikoff Award winner? Penix averaged 44 passes per game, Caleb 36 per game last season

      1. Penix moves the chains with the best of them. Depending on my schedule, the Nov 4th game is one I will attend. I hope both teams are undefeated heading the game and it’s the National featured game of the week

  4. Caleb probably will have around 4900 yds passing 45 Tds 5 int but won’t repeat as Heisman the last thing the Heisman pundits want to do is give us back to back Heisman. It will be just like Kobe not winning MVP during Steve Nash winning back to back those years. Caleb has too many WR who can take it to the house at anytime. Video game stats for the offense. Defense will make or break us this year. If the defensive line can get at least 5 stops a game, then we will donominate.

    1. With your numbers given, and USC undefeated when the Heisman voters submit their ballot how could Caleb not win. If it went to someone else, the Heisman Foundation would lose all credibility….just my thoughts!

  5. I like to examine all of the coaching staffs relative to their years of experience in ratio to their championship seasons. With college, winning a conference is a half point while winning playoff games (and conference championships) gives a .75 boost in grading. Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and TCU lost points due to major coaches leaving. Ohio St actually has an issue on offense with their lack of run production. It’s the reason why Jimbo Fisher, who won a national championship, is struggling because of the lack of championship coaching on the rest of his roster of coaches.

USC has one of, if not, the deepest coaching staff/support staff in the nation, along with LSU. Both school went out of their way to strengthen their backroom operations. It’s the secret X factor that Alabama and Georgia used to beat so many teams recently. It’s why Texas will falter because losing Gary Patterson will hurt more than Sark will admit. Klingsbury will hold Riley accountable. Otherwise, why take the job?

  6. The amazing thing about CW is that he is not close to his peak. He put up tremendous numbers last year based primarily on instinct and athleticism. He has not yet mastered the offense. He frequently failed to deliver the ball to an open receiver within the first 3 seconds. Once he masters the offense like Joe Montana did and Aaron Rogers and Patrick Mahomes, he will be absolutely unstoppable. My hesitation with betting on his statistics is that the offense may be so good that the games will be over by halftime and he will be substituted out. (Assuming the defense improves.) Or, defenses will put 8 people back in coverage to take away the pass and USC will just run the ball for 250 yards.

Was Riley padding his numbers last season? There were a few clear situations where Moss should have been in getting valuable experience. Even with a bad wheel(Utah), Riley still refused to play Moss.
