In a little bit of a surprise, USC is sending linebacker Mason Cobb to Pac-12 media day next week in Las Vegas, along with Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams.
Eric Gentry or Calen Bullock might have been expected choices as returning players but this shows USC has high expectations for Cobb, the transfer from Oklahoma State.
This will be the last Pac-12 media day for USC. The TV rights deal is expected to be topic No. 1.

Wait, but Shane Lee was the captain last season! Mason is the real deal and he must have some charisma. We all know Caleb can handle the media without embarrassing the school.
Just a few weeks away from fall camp. Does any know the exact day?

Never heard of him but I’d sure like to get to know him…

Maybe they’re sending a message to Shane Lee because of blown coverages / missed tackles last season. That’s how you raise the bar and create competition.

I made a similar about Shane Lee…..When you’re not sending a returning captain that’s definitely sending a message

Yeah, at the time Lee was better that what we had. This is an indicator to just how bad the incumbent linebackers were. This guy looks like Tarzan but sometimes plays like Jane.So no wonder why Henry To’oTo’o beat him out at Bama.

Arguably, we might have had the worst Linebacker corp in the PAC12, it was that had. The first Utah game was a prime example

Henry was recently drafted into the NFL by the Houston Texans if a remember correctly

At Media Day there would be some interviewing, so SC would want to send
not only athletes but guys who are not shy in public speaking. ‘Celeb’ is
certainly one of your guys and apparently Cobb is also
