USC Notes: A Familiar Face Returns To Coaching

BYU coach Kalani Sitake attended his first Big 12 media day after the Cougars were an independent.

“I got some tips from (quarterback) Kedon Slovis,” Sitake said. “He’s been to more media days than I have.”

  • Former USC football player/assistant coach Rocky Seto, who left the Seattle Seahawks to become a pastor, is helping coach at Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia.

He coached at USC from 1999-2009 and with the Seahawks from 2010-2016. He is currrently senior pastor at Evergreen Baptist Church in La Puente.

This will upset more recent members of the USC band but this is the band at its peak, right here.

This album was the first that featured “Tusk.”

The band was so hot, it had two albums circa 1979-80.

The album below featured “Animal House.”

  1. Always like Rodney Davis as the USC drum major. Marched like a warrior. When he stuck the sword into the ground it meant something. The team had staked its claim and was ready to fight. Mr. Davis could have been on a Marine recruiting poster.

    1. Wish we had Rodney come back and plunge the sword 2 feet deep in the bruin endzone after Jim Mora said we are no longer allowed …cuz… it’s “too disrespectful.”
It was so pussy of USC to take orders from the opposing coach —just do what we usually do, piss the bruins off & see if they can do something about it.

      1. They told Art if the drum major did it during pre-game, the band wouldn’t be allowed to perform a halftime.

Art caved. I let him know what a wuss move it was. They should have let them try to stop 300 from marching onto the field a halftime!

That comment right there should tell you just how stupid that pineapplehead Sitake really is.

And some of you fanboy idiots like pudly, Gabby, Steveg, gotroll22 wanted this Sitake clown to be the USC head coach.

    Goddamn!

    1. TB you lie. I never wanted Sitake as HC. I hardly even remember him. When it comes to worthless, you are the definition.

      1. You’re both right.
TB wasn’t talking about the earthling version of steveg. He was referring to the other one —the moon being one.

      2. steveg49 was very outspoken in his desire for that idiot pineapplehead Sitake to become the head coach at USC to replace Clay Helton and now he wants to change his tune, but people aren’t buying his lies

  3. I just read where Sitake ‘killed’ them at his first Big-12 Media Day,
so maybe introverted Slovis actually gave him a tip or two.
And didn’t Sitake’s BYU team out-class SC recently, and in the coliseum?

Next, nice to see Seto moving up in the world from merely coaching football to teaching religion although Baptists always scare me because one of my brothers is one and he is always saying how he wants to save me from Hell despite my telling him Hell doesn’t exist, so he doesn’t have to worry about “saving” me

    1. That was a Clay Helton coached Ladies of Troy team. Helton had too many fat lazy ass always hurt pineappleheads on his teams, it’s no wonder they were mostly mediocre

    2. Dear John,
Whether Hell exists or not you have nothing to worry about. Remember in “Meet Joe Black” when Anthony Hopkins asks Death if he has anything to worry about when he dies & Death shakes his head, smiles and says “a man like you?”

      1. Thanks for the good wishes as always, Michael,
but I presume nothing when it comes to God
and I only have hopes and dreams
as I am grateful for this opportunity I was gifted

      2. That was such a great and underappreciated film. I have the soundtrack and listen to it often.

Claire Forlani was so fine!! I’m disappointed not to have seen her in much following that role.

  4. wolfman, I am SHOCKED you remain silent on SC’s rather queer decision to block all SC From enjoying Tic Tac! You yourself reach millions of additional readers every day through this site! Does SC have dirt on you making you afraid of THE MAN??

That’s not the Wolfman I used to know. The old Wolfman would spit in your eye and then bust you in the mouth if you suggested he would ever bow to the tyrants at SC!!

wolfman, if you are being threatened on any way by the thugs in HH, let me know and I will order the Classy Cadre Security Forces to establish a perimeter around your estate.

  5. How does a non musician decide what the best music offering from the USC matching is? I love that 1977 band (sister was a member) but I’m most proud of the band members that performed for the world in 1984 at the Olympics under the direction of John Williams during the opening ceremony. Greatest performance ever by members of the USC TMB. EVER.

  6. The USC Marching Band is a huge part of the game day tradition and experience. If you’ve never seen them play their way through campus to the Coliseum, it’s something that you should immediately promise yourself and your family to do. I have never liked how they blare the sound system at the Coliseum with constant DJ music during the game. You can’t even talk to the person you’re sitting right next to. Plus, the decibel level of that obnoxious music is over 96 db. The marching band should be playing instead because that garbage noise. That noise silences the crowd and totally takes the crowd out of the game. When the band plays, it’s a completely different story. The band plays a huge role in supporting the team. When the defense makes a stop, they play. The drum section has a magic touch all their own! The band playing after a first down is a classic! The after game music is a great experience to stay and see. I decided to not go to a few games these past few years because of the crazy headache from the loud DJ noise
