Colorado is in discussions to leave the Pac-12 for the Big 12, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN
Colorado has scheduled a Board of Regents meeting for a second striaght day for Thursday, where it will discuss and possibly approve a move to the Big 12.
A Colorado departure from the Pac-12 would come after the 2023-24 season and coincide with the end of the Pac-12 television deal. That would mean that Colorado would not have to pay any exit fee to the league.
REACTION: The fact George Kliavkoff hasn’t presented any kind of TV deal to Pac-12 presidents probably didn’t help matters with Colorado.
Not to mention the botched addition of San Diego State.
I’m seeing some spin already. The people who claimed the conference would not break up are now saying Colorado isn’t essential to the Pac-12’s survival.

So Chip, what killed the “longevity of the PAC 12?”
My guess is that the decision that all 12 universities should share the conference revenue equally even though USC with its history of football success and its market dominates the generation of the revenue has something to do with it.
You can argue that university wokeness/DEI had nothing to do with this equity based decision but it is difficult to accept that the decision was made solely out of ignorance and stupidity. I think Mr. Tennis in his San Francisco high rise had a plan to weaken USC and ultimately that was the demise of the entire conference. Mr. Tennis had stated on multiple occasions that his goal was parity within the conference. That goal sounds woke to me.

You don’t hire a tennis guy to run your football conference. Stick with the obvious, the NorCal mob hates USC and they REALLY hate college football but want money too much. So they thought having the Pat Hadens and Lynn Swanns run USC would keep the Trojans mediocre but popular enough to make money off of them. But USC cares about winning. And Carol Folt saw through the masquerade. Give the president credit. She pulled a fast one on George. Vayos con Dios, cabrones.

I’d say it’s time to dump the deeply corrupt Zelensky and sit down for peace talks —- yes, peace talks. Russia offered a plan to the United Nations for a Federated Ukraine a dozen years ago —it wasn’t perfect but it was a starting point. The United States under Obama wouldn’t engage —neither, later, would Trump. Obviously Biden didn’t.
