Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti was asked if he believes the Big Ten would add more members.
“All the direction I’m getting is to focus on USC and UCLA,” he said. “I’m not getting direction about anything else”
At the moment, it doesn’t seem like the Big Ten has enough members who would vote for expansion. It’s also true USC and UCLA don’t want Oregon or Washington to join the conference.
- Linebacker Mason Cobb will not participate at USC media day on Friday. Apparently, the players and coach who went to Pac-12 Media Day will not speak at USC media day, which doesn’t make sense because a lot of media didn’t make the trip to Las Vegas last week.
- You want another example of how cozy (too cozy) Jon Rothstein is with the USC basketball program. Here he is being interviewed by USC basketball. Usually, it’s the reporter who interviews the members of the program.
But if you know he’s only going to be very positive and wants to curry favor with the coaches, you promote him.

Those two girls Branch and Nelson aren’t going to hold up, especially in the B1G.
Nelson pulled himself out of the game vs Mater Dei early in the 1st qtr. That girl did not want to get hit.
Branch, another girl not used to getting hit. She won’t make it through the soft PAC 12 this year let alone the B1G next year.
The L.A. inner city and SoCal high school skill position players are always anemic, no size and they can never carry the weight when or if they do put it on.

These are not senior citizens falling on their way home from the super market. These are people making life changing decisions on behalf of millions. They should be both physically and mentally fit. Mentally, in order to make sound decisions and physically because of the demands of the role. They are under a lot of stress, that comes with the territory. (Please don’t be like some idiots who point to Abbott’s inability to walk, which was the result of an accident. He seems strong enough to handle the pressures of his role.)
When they are no longer close to 100%, it’s time to pass the torch!

The guy who destroyed the Pac-12 was Larry Scott. He was a sports socialist. The socialists don’t want any winners and losers…just make sure everyone gets a trophy. We don’t want to hurt anyones self-esteem. Ryan Abraham once asked him if he had a choice, which would he choose
1) a Pac-12 where one team gets to the final 4 and maybe wins the whole thing or
2) a league where everyone is pretty good and nobody makes the playoffs.
He chose #2. He came into the league in 2009. That’s when the league started to go down the tube and under his leadership, they never made the playoffs. He accomplished what he said he wanted to accomplish…..equity. The teams were all pretty equal……equally bad. Since he has left(these last 2 years), the teams in the league have been stronger except for the fact that the league is falling apart. But that’s OK. We still have the Fidel Castro Pac-12.

With all the expansion just throw out the previous conference affiliation names. Let Notre Dame, Washington join the Big ? Oregon Utah Big 12,? Florida St Miami to SEC? Everyone else just register as independents because your school has no tv ratings value. This is only for football prediction, because basketball programs like NC would be left out of the SEC expansion which would be a shame as well as Duke. To me this will hurt the overall landscape of college BB. Not every school has TV ratings value for both sports. The question will be is there enough prime time space to carry all the games and get top Nielsen ratings for every perceived top game.
