USC Saturday Buzz: The Most Predictable Response Of Week

This is possibly the most predictable response to Colorado departing the Pac-12. And I say this as someone who already stated we need a healthy Pac-12.

National Championships (Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball) since 2007:

SEC: 31 Titles (9 Different schools)

Big 10: 1 Title (Ohio State)

    although with no SC showing up it was already greatly watered down

  5. If the Pac-12 adds the SLO Mustangs, the UC Davis Aggies and the SDSU Azetcs…perhaps they can get a media deal with XTRA-FM radio out of TJ and KTLA television in LA.

    The Tournament of Roses would love that arrangement! SLO already has a float in the Rose Parade and KTLA airs the New Year’s spectacular …without commercial interruption! The only thing missing is Stefanie Edwards and Bob Eubanks!

      1. I will always remember the 2006 Rose Parade with Stephanie Edwards. After 28 years, KTLA made the reprehensible decision to replace her with the much younger Michaela Pereira, an overweight Canadian with no attachment to the tradition of the Rose Parade. KTLA wanted to go younger. Stephanie was demoted to the on-street reporter position after people complained about the decision to replace her. It was Stephanie’s finest moment. She was out with her microphone braving the brutal rains and doing it all with a smile. What a wonderful lady. Michaela was in the sheltered booth eating donuts and drinking hot chocolate.

      2. Can’t stand Michaela. I knew she would fail at CNN. When she did, Fox LA made the horrible decision to bring her back to LA. (We were so glad KTLA didn’t!) That lasted only about a year.

        Have no idea where she is now and hope to not see her in LA again. You know, cuz I’m a racist. That’s all it could possibly be. LOL

    At least that is the impression he is giving when he talks about it being a “privilege” to coach at SC and how he is revitalized to see it through (i.e. SC regaining national prominence)
    And unlike McKay years ago and Carroll, Wiles has no money issues

AOC would benefit from knowing a bit about Israeli history…. a bit about Palestinian history… and, maybe, reading some controversial books relating to both —like the great Avraham Burg’s “We Must Rise From The Ashes” and Joost R. Hiltermann’s “Behind the Intifada” — there are no easy answers —but, then again, AOC doesn’t understand the issue of sovereignty to begin with….

Nobody should speak like this because it is ineffective but politicians routinely sound like AOC. Why? Because they want to give a false impression of empathy without making any commitments to solve the issue. Politicians have now become masters of using up precious time to say virtually nothing. AOC was very young when she became a congressman and has now adapted this form of speech. I doubt that she even understands how ridiculous it is. If you ever watch a local city counsel meeting, they do the same thing.

  9. The reason the SEC has won so many NCAA titles is because they have been buying players with bags of money while the corrupt NCAA looked the other way if it was the SEC and, at the same time, tried to destroy other teams like SC and SMU.
    There is a reason why they have won 31 titles including 13 out of the last 17 football titles. That didn’t happen by accident. Being able to buy players and get away with it while anyone gets the death penalty is a big advantage. But with NIL, buy players is now legal. They have lost their advantage and they don’t like it. All the teams are now on an even playing field. That’s not the way that it’s supposed to be according to the SEC. So now the SEC is going to congress trying to get their advantage back.

That’s why Ted Cruz and the other conservatives keep asking questions like “such and such is the situation with the dems…..do you think that is right….YES or NO? Then the dems start a filibuster speaking a whole lot of gibberish and Cruz will cut them of and say “YES or NO”. Then the dems start up again and finally Cruz says “OK…..so you refuse to answer that question”. The dems know that everyone of those repubs have a time limit. Just talk gibberish for a couple of minutes and you don’t have to answer any questions. That’s how Mayorkas can refuse to answer the question as to whether the border is under control. Talk gibberish for a few minutes and use up all the repubs time.

      1. Especially the democratic party. In the republican party you have RINO’s. There are no DINO’s in the democratic party. You have repubs that vote with Pelosi and AOC sometimes. But in the democratic party they vote the party line like the CPC(Communist Party of China).
        There is no dissent. Nobody ever went against Pelosi. The only 2 people who used to dissent among the dems were the lady from arizona(who has now left the democratic party) and Manchin from West Virginia(who now says he will run next time as an independent).
        You say that it is a shame that truth is no longer a virtue. To the dems, truth is whatever they say it is. The news media needs to ask AOC(and other prominent dems including Biden) if she thinks a man can have a baby. That’s the one question she and all the dems don’t want to be asked because, they know that the answer is NO but if they say that, then they will offend some of their own party, especially the teachers unions who are teaching that to our kids and also the LBGTQ+ crowd and others. When Biden was running for president, I always wanted to see somebody ask him if he believed that there were only 2 genders. Finally one reporter asked him that question. His answer was “well, there are at least 3” and then he ran out of that room so fast he looked like Usain Bolt. They never asked him that question again.
        I’m not sure that it is all the dems. There is a smaller part of the republican party(The RINO’s) that goes along. But the Dems always vote as a block.
