USC Notes: Careful What You Wish For

Some of these schools celebrating their new conference moves should be careful what they wish for.

Does Oregon have a chance to win a Big Ten title?

Do you think Arizona playing basketball in the Big 12 will experience more success than in the Pac-12?

What is Arizona State going to do in either sport in the Big 12?

This is where things get silly. Because people celebrate making more money instead of success on the field.

For the record, I’ve talked for the past year about how Lincoln Riley and Andy Enfield will not like being in the Big Ten. The same goes for Chip Kelly and Mick Cronin. So I’m consistent.

  • Liam Campbell, a 6-4 shooting guard from Idaho, has committed to USC. He is a four-star prospect for the Class of 2024.

  1. USC’s Ladies of Troy (men and women athletics) will not come close to having the same amount of success as they did in the PAC 12. I’ll go as far as to say that they better get used to being just mediocre, especially in football.

    Basketball, they’re going to take a few huge steps backwards.

    The USC brand built on being in the PAC 8 thru 12 will never be the same all due to greed. Travel and scheduling will be the downfall for all the teams from the PAC 12 entering the B1G.

    They should have all stuck together, but now they’re fucked and I can’t wait to see all these greedy fucks and what they got coming to them.

  5. I didn’t know Ohio St was so powerful and dominant. The officiating will be more consistent, The excitement will be more motivating. The travel will prove to be more manageable with only one trip a year to the Eastern seaboard and pretty soon, Cal and Stanford will join the B1G after being independent for one year. This idea that Riley fears competition is laughable. Baton Rouge or Los Angeles? Isn’t that a no-brainer? The only thing I can credit Wolf for being consistent about is his doubt for USC to succeed. I mean, wow, they’re doomed? Really?

  8. I thought I’d never live to see the day that AZ has AZ St. on a leash. AZ is a ntl’ power in basketball and conversely a ntl’ joke in football. But it was AZ that made the made the move to the Big12 ‘NOT’ AZ St.. AZ is comfortable being the lead mens bb trmeam in a new conference while AZ St. is what?

    I guess USC plays OR every year but I fail to see why that is set in stone?

    I think we’ll deeply regret abandoning what we had – a conference we would very easily been in post-season bowl competition every year for far more travel and unknown headaches upon arrival. The sole plus for thd LA schools is there will be far more direct flights to and from but beyond that this is morphing into one giant mess.

  9. well this time I agree with wolfie…SC and others should have fired all Pac12 execs and started over like after the old PCC…football is becoming a quagmire…Pac 8-10-12 had a good start and was fine 20 yrs ago,then the crooks took over and ran it in the ground.
