Shocking: Looks Like George Kliavkoff Gave False Impression

Remember at Pac-12 media day when George Kliavkoff said, “The longer we wait for our media deal, the better our options are.”

Well, Sports Business Journal has the details of the finals options for the Pac-12.

“Fox’s bid was for a package of just 13 football games, for which it said it would pay around $35-$40 million per year. Fox’s bid, essentially, was for what it considered part of the conference’s “B” package.

“ESPN had offered a significant package to the conference more than a year ago — one that the conference’s university presidents rejected. ESPN ended up cutting a deal with the Big 12, and while it remained involved with the Pac-12, it only put in a small bid for Pac-12 rights within the past few weeks.”

And finally: “CBS also engaged with the Pac-12 over the past couple of weeks, but it only put forward a bid for a handful of basketball games — around five in total.”

REACTION: This is why I couldn’t understand why so many in the media took Kliavakoff at face value. The guy was spewing nonsense and a lot of people just bought it.

He had a proposed deal from Apple that came with a lot of risks. But all the cable networks offered tiny deals. Imagine Kliavkoff and the Pac-12 presidents turning down a deal from ESPN a year ago.

What a shame a conference with the history of the Pac-12 became a victim of incompetence.

  1. George was too worried about managing the front door, while major desertion was taking place out the back door

      1. She just gave grounds for recusal. Additional crimes occurred outside of Mar-a-Lago. It was a secret grand jury that she exposed. Same judge denied a defendant a chance for family to be present during sentencing AND didn’t read rules to jury during same trial. Learn the law before you go into cheerleading mode. No wonder conservatives hate Judge Cannon.

Is that what Fake News CNN told you to believe this morning, This Libtard?

    1. Just to be clear, Fake Gabby needs treatment for her paranoid schizophrenia condition. It is a fairly common (and can be severe) mental illness: about 0.32% of the population suffers from it. [Let’s see. There were 331 million Americans in the 2020 Census. I don’t believe they diagnose it (for sure) until one’s late teenage years, so let’s apply it to those Americans and Traitors like Fake Gabby 18 and over. Google says that 258 million Americans are 18 years old & older: 258 million x 0.0032 = 825,600 people adults who suffer from paranoid schizophrenia, just like Fake Gabby.

    1. That’s what happens when you don’t take care of your number 1 brand; in the 2nd biggest media market in the country. Way to go Larry Scott and the PAC+12 presidents. You guys get everything you deserve. Way to be stupid and ignorant! No wait a minute, way to get hoodwinked by the grifter Larry Scott! Now all of you reap the rewards!

  2. George brought a deck of cards to build a football stadium. It was predictable that the end would come.
The real question is was George’s gullibility real or an act? Did he not know his deck was stacked or did he accept $$$ under the table to deal dirt?

  3. Larry Scott messed up the PAC12 with the silly 12 Network and wasting money on lavish studios and amateur production crews. Then they hire GK who refuses to make media deals with ESPN and FOX. I’m tired of expansion realignment. In 10 years we will be paying to watch these prime time college games streaming only because advertisement dollars will dry up? AD making 62M Av Shoeti 80M next year? Inflation with No Salary Regulation. Remember taped delayed Finals, 1980 Lakers we could go back there in a minute.

    1. The only time I visit the Pac-12 network is to stream the “Football in 60”. They take a game and edit it down to 60 minutes. The best feature of their site.
